There is no doubt it can be bad for everyone and often is.
No, war is generally worse if you lose. But it’s generally bad either way.
I guess if you can only fight on foreign ground and also win, you can avoid a lot of the bad parts. But most wars, and most countries fighting them, don’t work that way.
I’ve been an aid worker in Afghanistan and Iraq as well as several other conflict zones. I’ve posted in real time here about explosions near my house in Baghdad and about being unable to get back to my office in Baghdad, ultimately having to drive to Turkey to get out. I have been shot at, I have been near ieds and had mortars land near me. I have lost colleagues, I’ve had my compound shot up by a sniper and I’ve had one of my team tortured, beheaded and dumped in front of our office. I am so fucking over little losers like you who think you know the world when you don’t know anything.
Idiots like you cause so much suffering in the world.
I think that Germany and Japan are much better off for having lost a war.
But even in the best case, winning a war is still pretty terrible.

And you do, I trust, have sufficient cognitive capabilities to realize what conclusions people will be able to draw upon reading? If you look up the definition (I did) the word can be applied to anyone but the definition notes it is especially applied to women.
As I said, I personally have never heard it used that way. I’ve heard a man called someone’s bitch more often than I’ve heard a man called a skank, but bitch is gendered, too.
I’ve definitely heard men referred to as skanky before, but almost always in the context of a gay man being catty about another gay man.
