Fuck David Letterman and all misogynistic leftists who support him on this

In fairness, Obama did literally next to nothing as an Illinois State Senator.

Mind you, I don’t rate Palin but it’s a little disengenous to say that she’s a small town hick whereas as a political non-entity of a state senator has somehow done “more” than a mayor of a small town.

I think Letterman was right to apologize and had he done so in the begining it would have been all over. Palin is just milking it at this stage.

Is Chaska a place? Or one of Sarah Palin’s kids?

Like Bristol, both (probably).

Now see, that was way funnier than what Letterman said. She actually deserved that.

I thought the rule was that the farther away you went from Canada the dumber people got.

But Dave has gotten mean in his old age, but **MeanOldLady **is just funny.

RNATB too… I chuckled at both.

No. Born in Shreveport La. Have lived all over the United States (New Mexico, North Dakota, Virginia, Florida), as well as in Europe, Africa and a summer in Brazil. Currently live in the Minneapolis-St. Paul Metro area.

I’ve never lived in a small town, but my wife is from one.

He certainly has better academic credentials, as well as a far more extensive and meaningful professional life before he went into politics. Obama was a community organizer, an attorney and a Constitutional law professor. What did Palin ever do before she became a small town mayor?

How idiotic is she?

That’s IT?! - you get told that you are full of it and that you are “ridiculous” and “idiotic” by **Crotalus **and you offer no defense?

So you don’t acknowledge that you made a gross over-generalization about small towners?

I have no dog in this hunt - I come from cities or suburbs of big cities - but IMHO your over-generalization dismissing folks from small towns undermines the strength of any argument you are making…

…not to mention that it really pisses off John Cougar Mellancamp…

She was employed as a goal-post mover, an occupation with which you evidently have some familiarity.

Okay, asshole, you made me laugh with that one.

I thought we had moved away from assuming academics meant success? Also, I don’t know what Obama did as a “community organizer” or whether or not it resulted in any real responsibility.

She was smart enough to leave there.

To give you an idea of what kind of town my wife is from, and why it hasn’t helped my perceptions of small towns much, she’s from the same town where the movie, Jesus Camp, was filmed. You have to drive past that church to get to her parents’ house.

The discussion as about qualifications, not about success, and what relevance is it that you don’t know what he did as a community organizer?
I actually do happen to know some of what he did, but you’re talking about endeavors where “success” was almost impossible. His frustration at the inability to affect significant change without political power was the reason he decided to go to Harvard and get his law degree.

Obama’s credentials when he started in politics were far better than what most politicians start with, and light years better than a woman who had done nothing but get pregnant a few times before she became the part time mayor of a remote, Alaskan meth lab community. What were her successes as Mayor? What has she ever accomplished as Governor?

Actually I don’t think they were. He wasn’t a practicing attorney in the true sense and, solely from what I read on Wiki, the community oranization that he was involved with was relatively small. Further, his stint as an Illinois Senator was unremarkable.

What did Obama ever do as an Illinois State Senator? Other than register black voters in Chicago’s South Side as a community organizer, what else did he do?

Palin, and I am no fan, at least made an effort to go against the existing Alaskan Republican establishment which was fairly corrupt I believe. Obama made no such effort to curb the excesses of Cook County or the City of Chicago.

Clean up the corruption of Cook County/Chicago? With his own two little pink paddy-paws? You’re kidding, right? Look, Chicago is the place Texas politicians go for post-graduate work, that’s how corrupt.

My work here is done!

He didn’t even address it, ever. Allegedly, he was close with the Daley faction so he kept his head down and didn’t achieve much of anything as an Illinois State Senator. I know Chicago very, very well as I both live and practice law here. It just suprises me that a man so obsessed with change made no such effort whilst he was an Illinois State Senator. Other politicians have tried (Vallas) but Obama did, well, nothing.

Alaska is fairly corrupt as well and Palin did at least make an effort to buck the system.
