If you read the article, the child died because they were making drugs in their house.
Without speaking to what should and should not be legal, it’s reasonable to assume that this (along with meth labs exploding) would not happen if such drugs were legal and commercially manufactured.

Okay, we can agree to disagree somewhat on that point. I think it would happen with lower frequency. These types of tragedies owe more to the using than the making of drugs, as there are other dangerous items throughout homes.
