Preach it, sister.
Yes, they found a way to make Everquest fun, but it wasn’t all just new technology. They had to spend years working on it. They had to come up with a genuine storyline and setting instead of just rehashing boring character types from every other CRPG made in the past twenty years. They had to have a genuine and consistent art style throughout the game instead of just the same old bland hot chick sorceresses and lizard men that have been on every cheesy fantasy book cover ever made. They had to spend a lot of time balancing the classes and races so that every player can have a fun experience out of it. They had to write a ton of quests and actually make them functional, to keep it from being just a level grind. They had to come up with a way to handle death, PVP, player balance, and time spent playing the game so that it wasn’t all tedium. But they actually managed to do it.
It’s called World of Warcraft.
'Twould seem you’ve answered your own question about how to occupy the time on your day off.
