I enjoy playing music while I use my computer, so my speakers are always on. Every once in a while, I’ll go onto a site on which is embedded a banner from some hellish, insidious entity called “Jamster.” These banners scream out musical snippets (which are louder than my music and scare the fuck out of me all the time) apparently as some kind of advertisement. I can’t stand it, and as far as I know there’s no way to avoid it beyond turning off my speakers, which isn’t going to happen. I just went onto a website this very minute, and as always, a Jamster ad scared the living shit out of me. This company should be punished for doing this - I think it’s immoral practice to have audio ads screaming out and raping your ears all the time.
On further research, I found out that Jamster is a purveyor of cell-phone ringtones, so it is only fitting that they should have advertisements as annoying as the products that they sell. Furthermore I found websites complaining that Jamster had ripped them off.
God dammit…what a horrible fucking company. You should all burn in hell for bothering me all the time, for selling a stupid product, and for ripping off your customers.
just the website banners? You should try having their commercieal EVERY FUCKING SECOND advert on some channels (discovery channel, I’m looking at you…)
I don’t give a fuck about what the crazy fucking frog is doing this week. i don’t care if he’s doing some spaz out sounds to the tune of Harold Faltermeyer’s “Axel F”. IT’S AN ANNOYING FROG!
What’s even worse, since they started including downloaded music into the music charts, the Crazy Frog has been Number 1!! for over a month.
As a result, my list of people who need repeated cockpunches has risen to include
- all jamster employees
- All people involved in the production of the Crazy Frog adverts
- All people involved in those stupid fluffy chicks adverts/ lonely dragon adverts
- Harold Faltermeyer
- Bono
That is all.
It’s still number 1?!
The frog must be stopped.
Can I get an AMEN to that and a hearty “YOU TOO” to VH1 and MTV on Aus cable?
Personally, while I hate the frog song, I hate the little yellow canary even more. My god, why on earth would anyone voluntarily want that song to play?
What browser do you use? In IE you should be able to turn off “Play sounds” in the options. In Firefox there’s an extension that will block all ads. I’m sure other browsers have the same. If you’re using Windows, try double-clicking the volume icon and turning Wave down and CD up. That should let you keep playing CDs (but not MP3s.)
