Fuck Kazaa up the ass with a spikey orange dildo

You should uninstall the brilliant digital projector immediately. That program has the potential to turn your computer into a node for BDE. They will use your “unused computer resources” to run searches.

Also you should go to this site, which has very complete instructions on how to clean Kazaa. They will tell you what files you need to download to take care of the spyware and still have a working Kazaa.

Yeah, that little trojan bastard program that comes along with Kazaa is supposed to kick in any day now. It is genuinely evil.

Anyone who uses Kazaa should dump that shit right now, and use the suggestions in my first link to exterminate the Brilliant shit. It reinstalls itself on its own if you don’t get rid of all of it.

Hm… I always used to hate those pop up ads… but now that I know they’re causing annoyance to a Hanson listener I think I can almost stand them. And Kazaa works fine for me, your computer must be fucked.

There is a program that will uninstall the Brilliant software for you here. I think that removes everything, but I’m still checking. I didn’t know I had the b3d viewer installed, but apparently it came with Morpheus at one point, so even if you don’t think you have it you should check real quick.

[sup] Sorry if someone already posted the link. I read through and didn’t see it. [/sup]

Thanks for those links, ** Sofa King**. I had no idea I had that crap on my computer.

Step 1- Remove Kazaa
Step 2- Remove spyware with www.adaware.com
Step 3- Download WinMX. The only file sharing program that doesn’t sap netwrok resources when more than one person is online, has no spyware/adware, and will allow you to share file with ease.

No frills, no BS, just works like the dickins. Been using it for years and I’m shocked that nobody has suggested it before now.

Sam

What’s the deal with Web3000? Is it safe to dump it?

I have only one thing to say to all this.

Direct Connect. ( http://www.neo-modus.com/ ).

All your worries will be solved. Granted it’s better over a local network (e.g a university network in my case) than the net, but still. Mmm… Averaging 10 gig of files per day.

Clayton_e, I was being facetious about listening to Hanson and N’sync.

I’d just like to say, I agree completely with the OP, and I further feel that it is absolutely disgusting the way the Kazaa people go around to people’s houses and force them at gunpoint to install Kazaa on their computers. I say that’s got to stop right now!

do either of you have a Platinum account over there? this “one post” interests me, but i’m too cheap to spend another $10.00 to find out…

Nope, but I’ll tell the story to ya, although I’ve forgotten a few details.

Back in the day, just after the forums switched over to the pay-to-register scheme, airdisc was the first to pay up. Somebody noticed the “Welcome to our newest member, airdisc” and posted a topic about it, named, I think, “Welcome to our newest member, airdisc”.

The post spawned hundreds of replies, the tension grew. Members begged, pleaded for airdisc to post. Still, the post count climbed ever higher, and there was no sign of airdisc.

Finally, a new post sprung up in General Bullshit, posted by the magnificent airdisc. I forget the title, I think it was “hey guys, its me” or some such. However, he used the “BAN ME” tag. airdisc went in SA history as the first and only non-moderator to post with BAN ME without being banned. Thereafter every post was met with “AIRDISC SIGHTING!”

  • Later, the forums were shocked to find out that the very first post attributed to airdisc were actually posted by Fragmaster / El Pinto Grande using his mod powers to disguise himself as airdisc.

Whew… that was a lot longer than I thought it’d be
