I’m having trouble imagining Sam singing this to the tune of “As Time Goes By”, which is probably a good thing.
Have they been stigmatized? Is this any worse for them than any other random person with a relative who did something awful?
If they are being driven out of town on a rail, and burned in effigy, I’ll take a moment to feel a little bad for them. But i don’t even know their names. I’m thinking that every bad action hurts a bunch of people, and she’s hurt her relatives a bit, as well as inflicted horrible damage on thousands of others.
One of her daughters worked on her campaign. The other got a job because of shady dealings Kristi made for her. At least one kid explicitly supports the work Kristi does to hurt immigrants, minorities, and LGBTQ people, and none of them have come out against it.
So yeah, I’m not going to feel too bad if they feel like their privacy is being invaded. They’ve shown no respect for the privacy of others.
If I had to choose between privately wearing women’s clothes and fake boobs and having sex workers talk dirty to me (assuming I were a man) or having sex with Kristi Noem, I know which one I’d choose.
When I see statements like this I start to wonder if an actual human being wrote it. Imagine if you were in high school and photographic evidence was made available to the world that your father was a crossdresser. Looking back at your own experience as a human adolescent, you don’t think this would cause you any embarrassment at all?
By that standard, many adults have never thought of what their antics, good, bad, or indifferent, do to their children.
Especially people like Noem. If she cannot have empathy enough to rehome an unruly dog how can she be expected to give two shits about her kids?
She clearly not gonna give any quarter to Byron. She’ll dismiss him from her life in about two seconds.
They have not been stigmatized that I know of (maybe because the left has more important things to worry about/isn’t as scandalized by fetishistic behavior, and the right just wants Noem to go away, not be in the spotlight at all). I asked if anyone had knowledge of the “collective response” in post #910, but no one has said anything.
The only way it is potentially worse than “any other random person” is because other random people get caught up in situations like this all the time. But we don’t hear about them because no one in the family is famous or controversial. The Noem family knows that millions of people are aware.
I agree, and noted upthread that my sympathy would rapidly diminish depending on the adult children’s behavior:
That just leaves the grandchildren, who obviously must be quite young - possibly the ages where they’d be teased at school because of this. It boggles my mind that anyone would say “fuck the grandkids, I don’t care if they are bullied” but since I don’t think anyone has explicitly said that that is the way they feel, except for perhaps Jack Batty, I am dropping this now. The horse is looking pretty dazed, I should probably stop beating it.
The oldest is 4 years old. I doubt they are being teased about it or even understand any of it.
If I can’t relish a bigoted shitty asshole being embarrassed, because there might be a less shitty person also embarrassed, there’s something gravely wrong with the world.
A lady who shot a dog in the face and BRAGGED ABOUT IT, who supports the poster child of toxic masculinity, is now embarrassed by her delightfully funky husband. I’m laughing and I don’t give a crap if her children don’t like it.
Glad to hear it. If they were old enough to register what’s happening, I’d hope for them to spared any consequences of their grandparents’ actions. (Dammit, CairoCarol. SHUT. UP.)
Hah! Now that kind of mocking I definitely support.
OK, I actually LOL’d partly because it took me a few seconds to see it.
Lovely sentiment but these are Republicans we’re talking about. This will not be a Road to Damascus moment.
That picture looks like 3 boobs.
No, Cricket has been dead for years now.
I’m not sure that’s the best standard, because high schoolers are generally embarrassed by the mere fact of their parents’ existence.
NM. Misread something!
I think their father should be embarrassed and ashamed that he’s married to the Puppy Killer.
(Sorry, that should be a reply to @Thing.Fish )
Odd! I see two boobs and one asshole.
I mean, I’d be ashamed to admit I spent $25,000 to chat with fetish models when there are plenty of ways to do that for free.
Look at Byron’s face in the picture. He’s clearly not enjoying himself.
I didn’t watch any videos. So maybe he was having fun. IDK.
He looks pained.
