Fuck Romney for politicizing the events in Egypt and Libya

Seriously Mitt, what the fucking fuck? You are one of the biggest slime-balls I’ve ever seen in recent American politics. People died today/last night, and you use it as an excuse to attack Obama? And holy shit, that fucking smug look on his face during that…speech? Press conference? Whatever you call it. Seriously, look at this…this is what he looked like throughout his statement:

I love all the fucking back-pedaling he had to do when the reporters, who for once were actually doing their jobs, told him that the statement from the Egyptian Embassy earlier wasn’t an official Obama Administration statement, though.

“Oh, but he’s still president, so therefore he is 100% responsible for anything anyone associated with the US stays anywhere at anytime.”

Riiiiiiiiight. You do realize that, odds are, it would be the exact same people at that embassy had McCain won?

A huge shit-heel. I don’t understand how anyone could possibly think he is worthy of the office of President.

He’s only saying what a lot of people are thinking - why the fuck are our leaders so quick to add meaningless language about how they don’t support denigrating other religions? Really? What should be added is something along the lines of how our country has freedom of speech, despite if it enrages anyone, and no religion is more important than that right? And our Ambassador and others died in the service of this great right, and they should be commended?

I mean, it makes a lot of people crazy that every goddamn statement addressing the latest atrocity by violent Islamists is always appended with some statement apologizing for some boorish asshole who exercising his rights. Someone, at some point, needs to tell these guys to jam it in their ass.

Here is Obama’s actual statement, in which he doesn’t apologize for anything, and praises those who died. Romney was criticizing what the embassy hurriedly put out before any deaths, while it was under fire, and it had nothing to do with Obama.

It’s not surprising that Romney would try to turn anything into a political attack, though it doesn’t make it any less rotten.

What leaders? Seriously, what the fuck are you on about?

No “leader” issued that statement. It was made by a few people in an embassy, not the President, VP, Secretary of State, etc… but by just a few people, thousands of miles away, without the knowledge of the administration.

Was Obama supposed to predict the future and know they were going to issue this statement? When it came out, the administration DID distance themselves from it, and say “no, we had nothing to do with it.” What the fuck else were the supposed to do?

But we already have a thread for that…I want to keep the focus here on specifically Mitt’s completely horrible actions. He barely, if at all, expressed sympathy and gave his thoughts/prayers to the victims families…he just launched right into criticizing something Obama had no control over, and then basically saying he wants to start an all-out war with Libya for the actions of a few rebels.

Did you miss this?
While the United States rejects efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others…
Since when is our government in the business of rejecting efforts to denigrate religions? How is that any of their business? I would love it if more people spent time denigrating religions!

That should have been left out. The rest of the statement was on point, I think.

Those “few people in an embassy” are representatives of the US government and Obama administration. The statement was not them speaking as private citizens, but as such representatives.

In any case, Obama is screwed by that Lybian situation. On one hand, he can’t really do anything. On the other, not doing anything he looks weak and ineffectual.

I think the GOP in general is in danger of going overboard with this, especially so soon after the deaths of State dept. officials. The GOP chair tweated:

I’m sure hardcore GOP members might agree with that statement, but I think even most conservatives are going to find trying to paint the US President as sympathetic to the guys attacking American embassies pretty eye-ball rolling.

I really like bacon salt. Great stuff, has my wholehearted support. I would not hesitate to express that approval. Unless, of course, such an expression might lead to innocent lives being lost. Then, I might very well opt for a nice steaming cup of Shut the Fuck Up. Don’t know as I like anything that much.

I’d love it too (when people do it)- but our government should absolutely not be in the business of denigrating any religion.

Anyway, Romney’s attack was predictable but ridiculous.

Its not like the statement comes from nowhere. Clerics in N. Africa are claiming the US gov’t is supporting the anti-Muslim movie, so people should go out and attack embassies. That’s factually untrue, so Obama (and earlier, the embassy officals) said it wasn’t true.

Probably futile, since the protesters aren’t likely to listen to US officals. But if someone accuses you of doing a bad thing and saying they’re going to come attack you for that bad thing, its hardly outrageous to say that you in fact, don’t support that bad thing.

For those that missed it, here was Romney’s press conference:

And I do have to apologize, he does give his condolences and prayers to the families of the diplomats.

Of course, he spends roughly a minute doing that, about a minute going on about “rah rah freedom US Constitution,” and then at 2 minutes starts right in attacking Obama.

Compare this to Obama’s statement…nothing political at all.

My jaw is on the floor. That has got to be the biggest slime ball move I can ever recall.

Ya’ know, I’ve done more than my fair share of bitching about republicans, but I’ve always at least held a modicum of respect for them for standing strongly for what they believe in.

But not you Mitt. You’re not even human. In the past, jokes about you not being human, were just that; jokes.

Not any more though, you’re a fucking snake.

What have the innocent snakes ever done to you to make you hate them so? :frowning:

I can understand the liberal outrage. His perceived sympathies for Muslim protesters could well cost Obama the election.

Those folks that “perceive” that Obama has sympathies for Muslim protesters also “perceive” that he was born in Kenya and “perceive” that he is a Muslim himself.

So… No I don’t think that this will cost Obama the mouth-breathing moron vote. That’s already going to Romney.

Reactions to Romney’s behavior from various Republican media figures like Scarborough and Noonan is one of disapproval. Noonan thinks Romney is not doing himself any favors. Scarborough says that he’s swamped with negative reactions from GOP leaders.

Romney himself is really happy about this turn of events. He refered to it as Obama’s Lehman Brothers moment. It’s the big break he’s been hoping for!

Romney sure is showing he has no Presidential qualities when it comes to foreign policy.

Maybe the story on HuffPo has changed since you posted that link. Could you link to something that actually mentions Romney referring to it as “Obama’s Lehman Brothers moment”?

Regardless, this could be the big break the Romney campaign has been waiting for!

The smirk on Romney’s face during his presser was disgusting.

I beg your pardon. I misread the article and then flubbed the url. I should stop posting and drink my coffee.

The “Lehman moment” statement was not said by Romney, it was said about Romney’s response to the events in Libya.
