And that is the real tragedy. Where, may I ask, will the parrot cleaners get their day’s wage, now that the Tory Government has instituted sweeping parrot-protection reforms under the Omnibus Pirate-Enabling Act? Where will the children of parrot cleaners get their meals, now that the rich, nourishing parrot meat is clinging tenaciously to the living parrots, much like Thatcher clung so tenaciously to her bourgeoise illusion of femininity? How will the parrot cleaners’ chemists find new work to replace the prescriptions they used to have to fill for drugs to fight parrot-cleaner’s fever, parrot-induced encephaly, and atypical mammalian optical-renal ectoplasticity (when a bird hits your eye/with a kidney sty/that’s AMORE), once the cornerstones of British pharmacopaeic business?
We need a Government that’s willing to make tough sacrifices (of parrots) so that the common working parrot cleaner can earn an honest plucking wage. Remember: It’s got beautiful plumage!
