Aside from the first couple weeks after the most recent upgrade, the boards have been pretty fast and reliable to me. I get 404s maybe once every two days now as opposed to once every two or three hours before.
Well according to my Timezones of the World mousemat (no you can’t have it, it’s mine, all mine, I tell you) it would be 3.30 PM in Bangladesh and Burma and almost nowhere else. It is 19.30 hrs in Brisbane, Australia.

Last I heard, you can’t donate to the SDMB, though plenty of people have made threads asking to. Which kinda sucks, I’d certainly donate for a faster server and connection.
I usually ctrl-A ctrl-C my posts, unless they are short ones like this one…* crosses fingers*…realizes he doesn’t beleive in that nonsense…uncrosses them
You know, I have to say that I very rarely run into slow performance here. Really! Ever since the upgrades, it’s been running smooth as silk for me.
3 p.m. to 4 p.m. every damn day, here in India. Which is rather sucky, because that’s about exactly when I come back from lunch

Let me tell you about when I was a newbie. You kids have it easy. Back in the day, you’d wait five, ten minutes for every thread to load - even with blazing fast internet connectivity. Every upgrade has come with an IMPROVEMENT in service. When I started, it took guts and commitment to be a member of this board…you guys just show up and complain about a few 404s.
Snowed all the time too. And I walked to school in it. Uphill…both ways…
Ahh…the old ‘it once sucked worse, so you should be happy with the current amount of suckage’ argument.
Oh, it was worse than slow, it was down. Daily. Sometimes it was down for days. The cold sweats, the tremors, the nausea-- it was terrible. That was before vB.
Man, I get errors daily. Tolerable, but it keeps me from posting nearly as much as I’d want to. Mostly, I think, is because I post during my spare time at work… and after the fourth or fifth 404 or “Cannot Find Server”, I usually get too frustrated to continue.
Oh well.
Right after the recent upgrade I had problems daily. For the last couple of weeks though, it’s been working fine again. The flop sweat is gone and I no longer see giant spiders all over my keyboard. The ones on top of the monitor are still around, but they’ve always been there, so that’s okay.
