Yanno why they won?
Because in full wedding attire, I walked into the connecting bar ( Elks Club) looking for most of our wedding party and my groom ( all hovering around the TV) and at that exact moment, the wings lost.

My new husband ( not knowing I was in the room) said something like, " Well, I can’t blame Shirley on this…"

and he could.
When they were in the playoffs in 97(?) I had friends, relatives and clients who wanted me to leave the country.

We did.

All the way to Germany.

They won.
Coincidence?
So, in the future, if anyone wants them to go all the way, just send The Ujests out of the country ( and we ain’t talkin’ about Canunkistan.)

As for the Red Wings having the best record, it’s because they were lucky and got to play against the suckiest teams all season.

Montreal’s out, so it looks like I’m rooting for Ottawa and Edmonton now.
