I hope the image(s) get posted to validate that - this is exactly what I posted earlier - SHe’s setting up the next ‘battle’ where she will refuse to record the marriages due to the licenses “not being worth the paper they’re printed on” (her words).
I didn’t think Kim’s office actually was the entity that validated validity once you sent everything back in, though, is it? If not, there’s an opportunity to just ignore what Kim has done to the license and accept them at face value, sort of akin to accepting dollar bills covered in sharpie marks, for example.
Well, it’s one thing if your kid scraws on the license in crayon. It’s quite another if the agency responsible for issuing the license defaces it. The deputy clerks who agreed to issue licenses told the court they’d be scratching out Davis’ name, though, so as far as compliance goes I don’t think this is an issue. It is an issue in terms of the validity of the licenses, as I’ve noted, but that’s not Bunning’s problem.
They come back to teh clerks office for recording.
They are ‘valid’ from the sense that the couple can get married, and that the marriage itself would not be contested based on this - but they are technically “not valid” according to the statute that says how they are to be signed, etc.
Bunning’s order was all about getting the licenses issued - I don’t recall right now exactly how it was worded as to the signatures, etc - so again, ‘technically’ she’s complying with the order to issue the licenses - it will be another thing when it comes to recording the actual marriages tho (I bet).
And when they use their own simian-like understanding of that book to do the judging they’d better live up to that themselves if they want anyone to take them seriously. This admittedly trips liberals up constantly since nobody listens to them anyway
