agiantdwarf, don’t be so quick to disparage the Bengals. Here in good ole Cincinnati we’re actually feeling a twinge or two of hope since Marvin Lewis took over the team. We’re actually tied for first in our division. (Though admittedly our division sucks rocks.)

What I meant was, weren’t they just about every “expert’s” pick to go to the Superbowl since they went to the 2001 AFC championship? By experts, I mean the guys at Fox Sports, ESPN, ect.
Personally, I’m just pissed at the Steelers’ D because I have them in my Fantasy league.
Started the season with Pittsburgh and Dallas. One of these teams I expected to suck, and the other one I expected to soar.
Amazing how my expectations flip-flopped once the season began.

While I’m here, why do the Steelers seem to be the target of so much hatred? I follow every NFL thread I see here, and it seems that the Steelers are responsible for everything wrong with the NFL, according to the posters.
The Steelers have no “name” players" who talk trash on a regular basis. It seems that all the hype is generated by the media, who want to look smart and be the first to say “I knew it all along.” ESPN’s employment of ex-Steeler players and noted fans doesn’t help; they take flak from the other on-air personalities much more than, say, Dan Marino at CBS about the Fins or Cris Collinsworth and Boomer Esiason about the Bengals. Even when they sucked. And look at who the Steeler fans are represented by: Rush Limbaugh, guaranteed to piss eveyone off; Mark Malone, a half-assed passer; and Merrill Hoge, who will make silly predictions that just amount to trash talk.
I may be answering my own question if my suppositions are right, but what’s going on here? No one posts about the total fall of the Raiders, or Tampa’s apparent slide into doom.
I do happen to agree: Chad Scott should be shot. Watch the bastard get cut or traded, then he’ll learn to play and become an All-Pro with another team after joining the ranks of Cliff Stoudt, Bubby Brister, Troy Edwards, and others who screwed the Steelers and left town.
