Seconded.

I am voting straight ticket Dem. From now on. The “party of Trump” is the party of traitors and thieves. There is no Republican party anymore. They sold out. They betrayed this country for Trump and his boss Putin.
Why do you have no reason to care, if you don’t mind me asking?
Since my state doesn’t have Voter ID I’m going to vote multiple times and straight Republican just to undo all of your Dumbocrat votes.
Aha! We’ve found a moron who doesn’t understand how voter registration works!
As felons can’t vote, I would expect that to be Saint Cad’s last election.
Still, in person voting fraud is rare enough that I’d expect him to become a minor celebrity. It is more likely that an American will be struck by lighting than he will impersonate another at the polls. So my fellow posters should feel privileged to have witnessed Saint Cad’s world class quality stupid. I knew you could do it SC. Congratulations.
Oh yeah. If the Dems take the House, we get to see Trump’s taxes, just like every other modern President.
If the Republicans keep the House, they and Trump will conclude that there is no penalty for bad behavior. The Mueller investigation will be shut down and the self-dealing (Trump Hotel DC, various Saudi properties) will intensify. Also the incitements to violence against the press and others.

That is why this is the first election that I’ve volunteered for a political campaign.
Well, I guess we all know what YOU don’t aspire to…
fingers crossed for you America. I really hope you can get back to some kind of normality. Ever single day has been frigtening with a baboon in the cockpit.
I didn’t vote straight ticket.
Well, okay, I voted Dem for federal and state because FPTP is a garbage electoral system.
For local elections though I voted for the communist and the unaffiliated homeless advocate. Not that anything remotely right could even get elected here. Not that anyone remotely right ran here.
Refused to vote for the uncontested sheriff seat because ACAB.
Nope. Vote Monster Raving Loony Party - it’s the only sensible choice.
Voting multiple times isn’t really possible in your circumstances, which you would know if you were an informed voter, but then informed voters don’t vote for Republicans.
Ain’t enough rolleyes. The Clinton mini-scandals that the GOP got just enough mileage out of to make the election close, were nothing compared to what they’d have thrown at Bernie. They’d have wrapped him up with every historical radical left leader from Marx and Lenin to Chavez and Maduro, with honorable mentions for Stalin, Mao, and Pol Pot along the way. It would have been the worst Dem Presidential run since Dukakis.
Yeah, be sure to come back and let us know how that worked out for you and especially how many “Dumbocrat” votes you think you undid.
To the extent a Canadian voice matters in this issue, I endorse the OP.
Fuck you, vote Democrat, and if you’re too fucked up to realize the stakes involved, fuck you anyway.
Hey, fuck you right back. How I register and how I vote are not necessarily the same thing. And I’ve already voted.
Florida too.
That’s a new one to me too. Where is this?
I’m still unclear on where exactly these “I don’t understand stamps” people supposedly are.
On a tangent, the (UK) Post Office, which also offers banking services, has been running a Facebook ad in which a millennial receives a birthday card and is horrified to discover a check (sorry - “cheque”) in it, as she has never encountered such a thing before. General roasting in the comments section ensued.
In the end so did I, as all the R’s were either staunch Trumpists or Rick Scott.
I recommend Ballotpedia if you’re not up to speed on state and local ballot initiatives. It’s less useful for individuals, particularly for non-partisan races like judges, but for any sort of referenda it’s very good.
Once upon a time I was a registered Republican and a Bob Dole fan. Dole is practically Che Guevara compared to the current party. If the party ever comes to its senses, or if some individual local candidates buck the trend, I might consider an R vote. Until then, it’s highly unlikely.
Indeed, it’s entirely possible that a lot of those were conservatives voting Sanders as a spoiler, not because they liked him. How large this group was is impossible to tell, but I’d guess it was a significant chunk.
On what basis would we get to do that? Are you positing an eventual subpoena?
The Mueller investigation will probably be shut down unless there is a devastating defeat for the Republicans - a defeat so bad that it forces some Republicans to defect. The Republicans knew they’d eventually have a more competitive House simply because of how the districts were laid out. If they lose the House, they don’t necessarily turn on Trump. And he can still do pretty much a lot of whatever he pleases. But if the polls are way off and Democrats crush Republicans tonight, then there might be some soul searching. I doubt that outcome happens, but I’d love to be proven wrong.
I think he was saying, if someone’s using being an independent as an excuse to not vote Dem in this election, fuck them.
I started using Ballotpedia as a reference last year in the run-up to the Virginia elections, and I’ve been using them a lot more this year, enough that I figured I should start chipping in and supporting them, which I have.
Tru dat.
I would expect such a subpoena, but my recollection is that after the Dems regained control of Congress in 2007, they issued a number of subpoenas which Bush simply ignored.
The same option is obviously open to Trump this time. The question is, can the Dems actually do anything about it if his response is essentially ‘GFY’? Short of impeachment, I think the answer is ‘no.’ And impeachment would go nowhere in the Senate.
I’m voting straight Republican, because some random Liberal was mean to me on Twitter.
Ha-HA! You’re so funny when you try to use humor to mask your hostility for people different from yourself.
