It’s pretty clear what won this election- people are sick and tired of watching their hard-earned money go to other people, whether it be Detroit or Wall Street or the sick. The American people are sick and tired of the Democrats going “give us your money so that you don’t have to be afraid anymore”. I’m the one sitting at work in my cushy job that I worked hard to become qualified for, enjoying the fruits of my labor. It’s my fucking paycheck, not yours. THAT is what won this election.
You want more examples of fear-mongering? Look no further than this post right here. We’ve got “20% unemployment”? No, it’s 9.6% (right hand side) as of last month. Then there’s “We’ll all be dead in 50 years if you elect Republicans.” You want some lies? How about that we’re “enslaved” by a “big business system”, when the reality is that the American people and American corporations are one in the same? Who do you think pays your paycheck and gives you the ability to buy a DVD player for $40?
I’ve got $50 here that says someone will come in and try to defend these with “Oh, that’s just hyperbole” or “It’s OK when we do it.”
The fact is, my tax rate is 32%, after all the state, local, and federal taxes. That means that when I work 9-5 Monday to Friday, I don’t even start getting paid until Tuesday at 1:48 in the afternoon. And that’s before I even buy anything and pay the sales tax on it! That’s why I’ll never vote for a Democrat, and neither should you. I don’t need anybody on Fox News to tell me that.
Maybe they did. Maybe they would like to know all they worked for thier entire lives will end up in the hands of said kids/grandkids instead of the up to 55% being taken when they croak it before they are even cold in the ground.

Yeah, but you go a lot further than singling out a group of plainly evil people who make up only a tiny percentage of the population, don’t you. Instead you’re intolerant of and make accusations of evil toward an entire political ideology and approximately fifty percent of the population simply because they disagree with you politically on how the country should be run.
When Democrats win big elections, I sometimes see Republican supporters write messages like this one: “Oh the damn voters are so stupid.”, etc. “Suck it up,” I say. “Too bad for your side.”
Well in fairness I have to say that if I say that if I accept the verdict of the voters when my guy wins, then I have to accept that verdict when my guy loses. That’s politics.

What? Recission is factual. It happens and not too infrequently. You pay your dues, you get sick, they find a reason not to live up to their end of the bargain. People who are in their most need are often screwed the hardest in this regard. So this is a legitimate fear that people may have, and a legitimate problem to solve.

Let me try to explain in case you really truly don’t get it. Context matters.
When people complain about intolerance they’re usually talking about a specific kind of intolerance. They’re talking about intolerance that is based on fear and ignorance and is aimed at innocent people who haven’t done anything to the intolerant.
They’re not talking about intolerance in the abstract. Obviously there are things that everyone should be intolerant of. Everyone should be intolerant of murder, theft, rape, etc., and everyone should be intolerant of the kind of unjustified intolerance of innocent people that we’re discussing here. Being intolerant of racism is not in any way equivalent to being intolerant of blacks. Being intolerant of homophobes is not in any way equivalent to being intolerant of gays.
Context matters and there are different kinds of intolerance. Playing silly semantic games doesn’t change that.

But even so - let’s say a candidate ran on a platform of hunting down and killing all gays. And someone else called out for people who voted for that platform to die. Would that person be a hypocrite because they’re being hateful towards people who are themselves hateful?
