I dunno, I thought the one with FLCL set to Coldplay’s “The Scientist” was hauntingly pretty.
And I have to admit…I still like this one, even though it’s both shmaltzy, AND makes me depressed enough to blow my head off. (Apparently I have a fangirl or two back in my bloodline…maybe they fled Ireland to escape Cromwell, or something.)
I don’t have any problem with AMV.org, or the like, other than finding most of the stuff on it awful. If all fanvids could be on sites like that, I’d be as happy as Larry. It’s when i’m forced to sift through it to find what i’m actually after that I get annoyed.
Too true. But when it comes to slash, I don’t think the girls care one iota whether it’s meant or not. Though it would be nice if they’d at least put some effort into it–some of these videos are little more than long clips from the title in question.
That said, there are some popular videos, including ones with a lot of work put into them, that I don’t care for (Euphoria anyone?). Even the technically impressive vids can suck ass.
I have a new peeve to add, and since this is my thread, i’m doing so. Ner.
People who decide that it’s helpful to add “Not subbed” or “No subs, sorry” to the descriptions of the video in question. Certainly it’s helpful for seeing from the little description you get on a search result, should it show up. But it also means that searching for “subs” will bring up all those results, too. :mad:
