Yes, I know of them, even if I’m not local to Kroonstad (any more). They were a bit in the news with the Boeremag trial. Why do you ask?
I have a number of questions regarding them that remain unanswered despite web search. ( I'm Stateside,BTW )
Frankly, they alarm me. Your mention of Boeremag tends to confirm perception.
Your responding would be informative, but I won’t proceed without your consent.

Ask away, but like I said, I just know stuff from the news. I take it you’ve found their own website? They seem like a mix of the already highly-similar threads of Afrikaner Calvinism and Christian Identity.
MrDibble, no, I hadn’t found their site, thank you. I surmised their NGK connection and C.I. inclusion.
Did they originate in the O.F.S.?
Have they spread from there, now being nationwide?
Do they proselytise, and to whom does the message appeal?
Is there a generalised public perception of them, e.g., here the KKK is considered fringe, not mainstream, despite still prevalent racism.
Apart from the Boeremag link, does L.H. have criminal connotation?
No, no, no, let’s not start this again. It had nicely petered out into a bizarro tangent about something called the Boeremag (whatever they might be). Can it just die now?
I guess I do have a flag fetish afterall. Memorial Day is coming up and you know what that means. Cheap USA flags on sticks everywhere! I have two, I bungied one to a pole, and stuck one in the beachsand. My neighbor is flying his stars and stripes but the stars are in the shape of a peace sign. Annd one of my kids has a stars and stripes backpack (a remake of the classic 1968 Jantzen model). MY SO has hung on to his stars and stripes easy rider motorcycle helmet . Admit it our flag , the stars and stripes in RWB kicks ass and puts all other flag designs to shame.

In my world, a bar conversation is not private, and you don’t talk shit when you’re the new kid. Different strokes for different folks and all that.

Mods: Please attempt to forgive my bold and patriotic transgressions. No further attempts will be made by myself to bring humor to this thread.

My husband is Danish. Those are the people who have taken flag-loving to a extreme that Americans dare not meet. Flags on birthday cakes, for Og’s sake!
Heh, I actually am Danish and just returned from a week in the old country. And yes, the Danes are completely over the top when it comes to thinking up reasons (and ways) to show the flag. The stores are open an additional 4 hours this weekend? Line the streets with flags!
That being said, I don’t see any overly nationalistic overtones - the flag is as much a symbol of celebration as it is a national symbol.
A pledge of allegiance to the flag? Fuggeddaboutit. Danes are not good at taking that kind of stuff seriously.
What? It’s derivative and slightly redundant, though admittedly cool-looking. Personally, I’ve always felt that Bahrain has the coolest flag.
Eh, that’s just Qatar’s flag a different color.
Hunderwasser’s alternate New Zealandi flag is pretty neat, as well as is the Maori flag.
As for official flags, I’ve always loved South Korea’s, and Nepal is too cool for quadrilaterals. FYROM’s (Former Yugoslavian Rupublic of Macedonia has some nice coloring and forceful diagonals.
But, yeah, the stars and stripes is up there in my top five.

From what I can tell, on the border of the FS and Gauteng

No, they’re pretty marginal

Right Wing nutbars, same as in the US

They’re considered pretty fringe - not because of the racism as much as the millenialism

Not that I’m aware of. At least, they still exist.
Every time this thread is back at the top, I chuckle, amazed that you’re still fighting. It’s like the old cartoon fights where they show the sun rising, and setting, and rising again, and then the camera goes back to the fight and it’s still going on. Gold!

What makes me chuckle is morons like yourself who are always hunting for excuses to feel smug superiority. If you actually looked you’d see that there really isn’t any argument going on anymore.
Sweet Jesus. Is it a full moon out or something? You’re all idiots. Every goddamned one of you.
Two thoughts:
That’s damn funny. I seriously laughed out loud.
The fact that you would post in the “you’re all idiots” thread implies you should be included in that group also, which doesn’t reduce the humor at all, it actually makes it a little more complex and interesting. Of course the fact that I’ve just posted makes me guilty as well.

Well, life’s like that, I mean, there are websites out there devoted to people whose sole aim is to looks for excuses to feel smug superiority.

O.K.. I’ve been feeling a little low lately so I’m just going to say it. Cite? I hope you guys don’t think any less of me. I just couldn’t bear that.
