Hello, jarbabyj. John 3:16 means everything! And yes, we must accept Jesus as Savior to go to heaven. That’s what the Bible teaches though many deny it.

In all fairness, I think we are talking about two different people. There is the Jewish woman who Christ encountered just before she was to be stoned to death for adultery, who is referred to in John 8:1 to 11. To her Christ says, “Neither do I condemn thee: go and sin no more.” (emphasis mine).
The Samaritan woman at the well was not the one who was caught in adultery, although, having had 5 husbands, that accusation might not be unreasonable. Her story is told in John 4:8-30. She neither confesses her sin, nor is it recorded that Christ told her to sin no more, yet she is the first person He revealed Himself to as Messiah, and I believe she was the first person to proclaim Him as such or at least ask if Christ could be Him.
Other issues I will save for another time. I will however, leave you with not only Matthew 25:31-34, which you’re so fond of, but also Matthew 25:35-46.
CJ
Hi, that would be me.
You know, there is not much point in debating deeply held beleifs. But you know something: if God created me with the desire to love and be loved by my own gender, yet tells me that filling that desire is wrong, then He is evil, and his “morals” are nothing but divine tyranny.
You might enjoy emotional abuse, His4Ever, but I don’t.
But to me, faith and love can’t be separated. Love is the act, and I guess we are saved by that act.
We have to LIVE our faith-if you believe in Jesus, your actions are what proves it.
Otherwise, you’re just another Wildest Bill-he kept saying it didn’t matter if he was a complete jackass, because he believed in Jesus. That was it.
THAT, to my mind, is cheap grace.
Didn’t Jesus say, whoever isn’t against him, is with him? I was taught that when we show love for our fellow man, we are serving Him, even if we have no idea of who He is.
At least, that’s what Sr. Frances taught me. Jesus is Love.
And let me say, His4ever, I see gobear doing more of Jesus’s work than I do you.
A lifestyle is a manner of living that reflects the values and attitudes of a particular group or individual. (Loose paraphrase of dictionary definition.) A manner of living would include owning a house or renting, whether or not one owns a car, what religious services one attends and how often, what foods one eats, including how often one cooks them oneself, one’s choices in clothing. It would even include whether or not one lives in a committed relationship with a partner.
Can’t see it covering what genitalia that partner has, though. That logic would suggest that a married couple sharing identical patterns of living, living together, and all that stuff, have different lifestyles. Perhaps one’s living the male lifestyle and the other the female lifestyle?
Utter rot.
Ladies and gentlemen, in yet another in a string of encore performances, His4Ever. Isn’t she amazing? The air of haughty superiority, completely failing to act as cover for her complete lack of understanding and compassion, the snobbish contempt for those who dare to see the world differently than she, the complete lack of comprehension of the subject at hand. Marvelous. And let’s not forget her total inability to change.
Appreciate these dinosaurs now, while we’ve still got 'em, folks. Don’t poke at them, 'cause they’ll still snap at you, though.
Just think, a few years back, whole herds of them roamed these lands. Now, there are just a few left. Soon, it will be a rare thing to spot one in the wild. Kinda sad. But not really.
Um, His4Ever, fornicators can be heterosexual, and mankind includes women. Would you care to hear Jesus’ opinion of those who judge the lives of others?
Lib, I’m pretty sure several people have told her, but she apparently prefers the words of Paul to the actions of Christ.
I am incredibly sorry for all of us.
CJ
Me too, CJ. But there is consolation: her judgment is worth exactly the same as mine, yours, and Gobear’s.
My participation in this thread is over, to all of your great relief I’m sure.
Good. I like reading your posts a lot more when you talk about one of your favorite TV Shows, you know - the one conceived and created by a good old secular humanist?
AH, I see where Jesus says “Who condemns you?”
She says "No one Lord. "
She acknowledges Him as lord.
I guess its that simple.
Good morning everyone. Thanks so much for being patient with me yesterday. I was being obtuse and…may I add ridiculous.
My question was SPECIFICALLY about Getting into the Heaven Night Club post-being hit by a truck, and not the Chrisitan life style. I fully understand that I am not following Christ in order to avoid Cafe Hell, but I was just trying to clear up the idea of predestination and such.
I follow Christ because I come from a family and a community where living a Christian lifestyle brought us happiness, peace and success as human beings.
Have a great Wednesday!
Regards,
Shodan

I don’t find relief from that. Your heart is so dark and cold that I will find relief only when it is filled with light and love.
The burden Jesus places on people’s shoulders is light and easy to bear. You, on the other hand, are placing a heavy burden upon the shoulders of others. There is no greater burden than condemnation.
Please stop using scripture as your personal sniper rifle.
Matthew 7:22
Shodan, my point is, if she’s going to go around and snap and say things like how gobear is most likely going to Hell for being gay, then she’s not reading the Bible very closely-I have never seen her give comfort or aid to anyone in need, as Jesus told us very clearly we must.
Just because I’m very, very proud of my own denominational church for doing it, and because it illustrates that not all Christians hate gays:

It’s a start. One paragraph in particular spoke to me:
