Fucking Comcast

Yeah, seriously. The only way to deal with Comcast is to cancel all services with them. About three separate times, to make sure they get them all.

They aren’t ORGANIZED enough to respond to complaints.

So here we are talking trash about ISPs, and lo and behold someone from an ISP happens to show up. Not a member who happens to work in the industry, but someone acting as an official spokesman for the ISP. Makes me wonder how they found this thread.

If nothing else, it shows how important net neutrality is and how an ISP could filter or at least monitor content if given the chance (the Comcast search page that China Guy talks about is another example).

I had intended to return and respond to this, but I forgot until this was bumped. No, I don’t have any desire to sit and rehash my old problems with a Qwest representative. Frankly, if I never have to speak directly to a Qwest representative again for as long as I live, it will probably have a significantly positive effect on my blood pressure.

On top of which, I cannot authorize you to access my account because I haven’t had an account with Qwest for nearly a complete, blissful decade now, so I really don’t know what the point would be in continuing the discussion. Unless you want to retroactively reimburse me for the worst customer service experience of my life, I don’t know what you think you’re going to do for me. If you do want to reimburse me, can you just take my word for it that Qwest screwed me over and fork over a few hundred bucks?

You mean there are people who pay to go to Flyers games?

Yes, although I don’t personally know any, because nobody I know can afford it.

Sign up for Direct TV. You wil be glad you did. And the best part is personally handing back your cable boxes, and explaining to them WHY you changed over.

Here’s a question for you, Stephie-Do you really think that publicly paying attention to a lone complainer on a rather large message board in hope of receiving good PR on the same board will fool all the other customers into thinking that they will receive the same personal treatment?

Well, to tell the truth, I don’t think this is a particularly large message board.

OTOH, I kind of applaud Ms. Lake’s proactive measures in signing up here and apparently setting up a 'bot to do a vanity search for her company. I suspect she might have done the same on other boards where people gather to grouse about their experiences as consumers. That it didn’t return a timely opportunity to interevene in this instance doesn’t mean it wasn’t a good idea.

TVs in the kids rooms.

Put my modem and main TV on the 1st splitter.

I have heard nothing but completely negative things about Comcast, nicknamed CON-Cast but dissatified customers. These cable/internet providers work as a quasi-monopoly with high rates and poor service. The same is true with Ticketmaster (or Ticketbastard) who runs a monopoly and buries their customers in fees and surcharges. I haven’t gone to a concert since Reagan was President mostly because of this asshole company.

I don’t know if I would even have cable TV now. I can watch most what I want on the internet. I need internet like Keith Richards needs heroin, so I can’t get around that. I also get annoyed at their upgrades and “packages”. On the phone with some dithering woman going over the four options I can get, with me telling her “Give me the cheapest one! No, I don’t want HBO!”

I hated moving to a new dwelling and had to deal with the phone company, electric company and cable provider. With their automated service, deposits, fees and garbage, and then charging high rates for a service that to them costs very little. At least now the phone company has competition from mobile phone providers. If I lived in the USA, I would never spend another dime with Bell South. That company, and their assraping fees and ridiculous bills can suck a bag of dicks.

You said you have a Chinese wife. I also have a Chinese wife. Where in the Empire (China) is she from? 她是漂亮吗?

Funny, but Comcast mostly gets dings from me because of price. The actual service has actually been pretty reliable for me. shrug

I actually agree - I’ve had few problems with my internet, cable, or phone. But when a tech needs to come, there’s been a fuckup every time.

Joe

First three important facts:
I am a Comcast customer at my current residence.
At my previous residence (almost 5 years ago) I was NOT a Comcast customer EVER.
My wife died over 7 years ago.

I receive Comcast and AT&T solicitation letters all the time that are addressed to my late wife, but at my current address.:confused: WTF? There should be no way her name should ever be associated with my current address.

E Mail bomb to an Exec. Check on consumerist.com. They have all the goodies to annoy the execs. Just don’t send one to me. I have an Outlook rule for that mess.

They used to be worth it.
