Hey, the work needs to be done. I’d rather tough it out through some early mornings than drag it on and on because they lose two or three hours of work per day. It’s part of being a homeowner.
Lucky me, I’m unincorporated. I can start and stop whenever I feel like it. My neighbor doesn’t complain because he’s too far away. It’s really quite nice!
Pipper, you hit a nerve. I’m sick to death of rudeness. It’s been building up for a long time and at 6:30 on a saturday morning it boiled over. I also disagree that the police are here purely to fight crime. So do experts. Regulation is a big part of the police officers job.
Now the list of offenses has grown with respect to my next door neigbor. The whole crew would have been yelled at, and there would have been a confrontation and I’m not about confrontations with my neighbors. That’s why the police were called. And, since in reality, laws were being broken, it would be considered a “crime”. In our area, we’re just about 100% crime-free. Our police have NOTHING to do, especially on the night shift on a saturday morning.
I have been very patient with this job which has drug on and on due to sheer laziness and ineptitude on her behalf(she won’t even pick up a shovel, I tried talking her into it once. SHe said it was too “hard”(we’re talking about a pile of recently dug-up dirt here)). Doing what she did as early as she did with no warning is inexcuseable, and if you can’t see the wrongness, tough. If you can’t see that I avoided a potentially nasty confrontation with her asshole brother in law who said we were “lucky”, he didn’t start earlier, which would have done me no good(they would have poured anyways), and would have lead to me being more pissed off at her, then I’m sorry. I don’t know anyone who feels the way you do.
I’m all for home improvement, but home improvement should not come at the expense of your neighbors peace. If home improvement is to infringe on your neighbors peace, then at least talk to them. Lack of communication on her part is what caused me to call the police. Please note that we didn’t want her to have to pay the fine, so we declined making a formal complaint. This wasn’t a retributive call to the police.
On a prior occasion, and when this work began I spoke to her about her timing. There is now a status quo.
Now if that explanation isn’t good enough for you, and you still think I’m just a “slob”, who doesn’t “do anything before 9am”, then fuck yourself. I’m not sure either of those insults has anything to do with whether or not I’m a nice, quiet neighbor.
