Fucking Trump and his fucking tariffs.

I just placed a reasonably large electronic parts order with DigiKey.
Everything has gone up in price, and there are shortages of ceramic MLCCs.
All the parts from China now say “Tariff Applied.”

Thanks for the tax increase, Dickhead Donald!

That’s OK. Now that China, the EU, and Canada have all imposed retaliatory tariffs on US goods, soon you may not be able to afford to buy food, either. #MAGA

If you think you’re having trouble making ends meet due to current international trade conditions, I recommend adjusting by either spending less and/or earning more.

Fuck you, too.

Aside. MLCC’s are prolly not the Donald’s fault. There is a global shortage of MLCC’s owing to some factories going off line, and increased volume of smart phones. Of course, the tariffs on MLCC’s *are *Donald’s fault. Carry on with the rant!

No, no, no: Tax increases are Evil Socialism, enacted by wicked Democrat Party politicians. A Republican would never increase taxes! Tariff increases are thus totally different from tax increases.

We’re Building A Wall Against Foreign Stuff, and Making the Americans Pay For It! MAGA!!!

Is this a purchase for your own small business? If so, I’d share this information with your Democratic congressional candidate. It may not help your current situation, but it will give them ammo to reign in this fool.

I’d recommend examining your rectum for signs of intestinal bloating since your head is already located there.

These tariffs are middle class tax hikes of course. If they all go through, the Trump tax hikes will exceed that of the tax increases for Obamacare. Really.

https://www.motherjones.com/kevin-drum/2018/09/donald-trump-is-the-biggest-middle-class-tax-raiser-of-all-time/

The Affordable Care Act increased taxes by $32 billion, mostly on the rich. Republican tax hikes amount $132 billion, mostly on the middle class. That said BeenJammin 's advice seems sound: those plutocrat tax cuts passed last December don’t pay for themselves you know.

My Dad’s big fear is that his beloved dollar store will turn into the $1.50 store.

Why should he? Isn’t that the advice the Republicans give? It’s his own fault for buying so many iPhones, right?

The “spend less, earn more” solution to Trump’s tax increases, has that been suggested to coal miners yet? I hear that Trump tells it like it is, so what’s he afraid of?

I suspect you jest but this is actually the point; the impact of these tariffs is going to be felt by the people least able to bear them, i.e. those whose livelihoods and material needs are dependent upon cheap imported goods. A marginal tax increase isn’t going to substantially hurt middle and upper class people to a point that they will do more about how their $1000 iPhone Xs now costs $1150, but for someone living paycheck to paycheck, or who is dependent upon materials and goods coming from overseas, this can be financially devastating.

Yet another poorly conceived, badly executed plan by the Trump Administration, replete with unanticipated blowback and eventually revealed corruption, all explained in dry quasi-senile illogic by billionaire Treasury Secretary Wilbur Ross.

Surely this must be Hilary’s fault somehow.

Isn’t it mostly libtard Hillary voters who buy lots of electronics? Real MAGA Americans spend their money on cowboy hats and strip-clubs. Trump is working hard to reduce the cost of living for red-blooded patriots, even making $130,000 payments to subsidize the careers of top strip-teasers.

If you don’t like Trump’s price for electronics, perhaps you’d help out by buying a “Brand New Ivanka Trump 6611 Size 16 NEW Taupe Printed Shift Dress Trapeze Smocked normally $148” available on e-bay for just $13 if you act now.

Trade wars are never good. Does no one in the US remember Smoot-Hawley?

That said, at lunch today, I heard a dissenting view. From a senior local businessman who has dealt personally with Trump and does not like him one bit. He said that the problem is that the Chinese are holding their currency artificially low and not allowing it to float freely and Trump’s tariffs are an equaliser. If the Chinese were to allow their currency to float freely then the tariffs would not be needed.

I think such an action would produce major shocks in the Chinese economy.

That was true about 10 years ago. Lately, they’ve been trying to prop up their currency. Your random lunch person is wrong. Also, many business people know dick about economics.

Wow such as simple solution, why didn’t I think of that. Think about what other so called crises could be handled in such a similar manner.

Health Care: If you have problems finding health insurance I recommend don’t get sick.
Immigartion: If you have problems entering the US I recommend, being born here.
Race relations: If you don’t like getting shot by police I recommend don’t be black.

Cites, please.

He’s a very successful local businessman who deals internationally.

I recommend getting rid of the criminals and incompetents running the government.
