Fucking Yankees

************ Pent up angst release commencing **********

Call me insensitive. But FUCK. Will SOME ONE ELSE WIN, or at least GET A BREAK! Twice in a row they tie the game with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th. This is just sickening. If the Yankees end up winning this series, I will not watch a postseason baseball game again until the Yankees are out of the hunt. (unless the Indians are playing, of course). Like they need a fucking 28th title. I’m so sick of this bullshit. If the Mets were in the series right now, I’d be cheering up a storm…but not the Yankees…not again…not for at least another 40 years. They’ve had enough. PLEASE, AZ…find a way to win this fucking series!!!

************ Venting Complete***************

As much as baseball needed McGwire v Sosa to reinstill some magic into the game, they REALLY need to find a way to bring a little more parity into the picture. The NFL is a lot more exciting to watch because the deck is not stacked in New York’s favor.

I have heard that AZ will go the way of the Marlins, perhaps faster, because there is no way that they can sustain the spending required to be competitive.

Salary cap, anyone?

Son of a bitch. They just won.

Yankees 3 Diamondbacks 2

:frowning:

Farg!

Get yer scissors out kids, I got me a hankering to cut up some ticker tape…

Yanks Rule!!

The AX catcher CHOKED HARD in my opinion, from what I’ve seen. That throw from right field looked to be on target, on time, and catchable.

Well, I look forward to instant replay on that.

Ax catcher? Talk about work with little long term job security prospects!

Yes, please.

It is good to be a Yankee fan. The other team leap ahead and feel your heart sink. Because the Yanks could lose this now. The really haven’t been hitting so well.

You watch inning after inning go by and wince as Justice strikes out and Williams flies out and the bat boys run to move the Gatoraid tank out of Paul O’Neal’s way. 6th inning, 7th inning, 8th inning. . … You start wondering if the series will even get back to Arizona.

This is it. The last out. You have given up hope. The Yank’s will come back next game, you think to yourself, they always do.

And then BAM! Oh my God! Yes! Fuckin unbelievable! How could I have doubted them? It’s the Yankees I’m talking about here. Yeeaaah!
And then they do it again the very next night. Gosh, it’s good to be a Yankee fan.

That’s EXACTLY what baseball needs. That way a team like the Yankees with unlimited cash can’t just go out a pick up a few hired guns before the trade deadline, which has been the practice in previous years.

Nice post mouthbreather.

Like a salary cap would have made that much of a difference. Williams, Jeter, Spencer and Soriano came from the Yankee farm system. Other teams have spent more than the Yanks.
But I understand. It sucks when the best team in baseball isn’t your team.

How many other people watched the Brosius home run and thought “Ah, the fix is in, again?”

Thuhuhuh Yankees Win !!! Thuhuhuhuhuh Yankess Win!!!

Bad news is that they scored only two runs between Johnson and Schilling, and they may have to face them both. And Clemens may have to start the seventh game in a National League Park, with no DH. So he won’t be as able to throw broken bats around.

I’m a die hard Yankee fan, and this post season has been incredible.

That said, baseball does need a salary cap. Its not fair that there are teams with no chance to compete. A team like the A’s have built up a good young team, but it looks like they are going to lose some of their key players because they cannot compete with the big money teams. Having money doesn’t promise you a winning team, see the Dodgers or Red Sox. But having no money means you cannot compete for and free agents or pay your own players to stay.

But since there isn’t a salary cap yet, its gonna be tough to beat the Yankees.

I wouldn’t be too mad at the Yanks. You should be bitching about the stupidfuck D’backs closer, Yum-Yum Kim or whatever the fuck his name is. He fucked it up two days in a row, and if Brenley puts him back out there again he’s dumber than shit and deserves to lose. I’m only cheering on the D’backs because I’m tired of seeing Jeter pump his fist into the air. He knows where he can shove it.

I’ll bet you do, sincec by all the standard objective measures, the best team in baseball – the Mariners – is watching the World Series at home this year.

“Winner of the World Series” != “best team in baseball”

BTW, the Indians have apparently developed a corollary to the traditional rule about ex-Cubs spreading their non-Series-winning poison to other teams: No team with an ex-Indian on the mound can win the World Series. Brian Anderson, Albie Lopez, Greg Swindell . . .

Speaking from an outsiders perepective, from a person who has never sat through an entire game of baseball in his life, how hard is it to jump on the bandwagon and select the Yankees as your favorite team? I’m not talking about this season, rather the “concept” of the New York Yankees in general. It’s a cliche, an easy way out for lazy people with no creative drive or spirit. It’s the intellectual equivalent of naming your cat “Fluffy” or “Kitty”.

And how would they have fixed that, exactly?

[sarcastic kiddy voice]
Awww…I know. I would be SO tough on you if you lost the WS this year. I mean, come on, there’s no WAY 4 titles in 5 years is good enough, or 27 total. No…if they lost this year, you’d be heartbroken, I know. I mean, it just wouldn’t be FAIR if the Yankees lost.
[/sarcastic kiddy voice]

Please GOD, just give someone else in this world a chance to cheer for their team. Any team, any where. Hell, the only team I hate almost as much as the Yankees is the Braves, and I would throw a damn party if the Braves beat the Yanks in the series. That’s what it’s come to.

Next year, let’s please see one of the following:

  1. An Indians World Series Championship
  2. A Cubs World Series Championship
  3. A Red Sox World Series Championship.
