After all the hype all week on the meeting of the Jets and the Pats, the game is not on here in Oregon. Is there any other game that is even remotely more interesting than watching Bellichek (sp?) humiliate the team that blew the whistle on tape-gate?
What game is on instead? The snow bowl in Cleveland between the Bills and the Browns is on here and is pretty hilarious.
I’m getting Jaguars-Steelers which is a perfectly fine game, but I’d actually rather be watching Bills-Browns. I love football in that kind of weather.
And I’m getting the Raven’s/Miami game - but would prefer to be watching my Steelers!
I guess they can’t please everyone. If my shirts get out of the washer in time, I think I will go down to the bar and watch the second half.
Packer/Rams here. I want to see Favre break the record.
I’m watching Game 5 of the 2004 ALCS between the Sox and Yankees on ESPN Classic. Go Sox!!!
I find it hard to get all up in arms about the pats not being on National TV.
I just watched Miami win!!! Good for them, Jason Taylor is favorite of mine and I don’t want a winless season on his record.
This is why God invented sports bars.
Hype? Are you serious?
It wasn’t televised here (Georgia/Florida border) either, but ESPN, the major networks, radio stations, the guys hanging around the Circle K, your local girl scout troop, and everybody who has ever seen an NFL game knew that it was a contest pitting Mad Max behind the wheel of a semi VS. Shirley Temple on a tricycle. Understandably, the post-game highlight commentary was all about “Hmm, they only one by ten, I thought it would be more.”
I hate the Pats. I want to see them lose. But I knew damn well the Jets didn’t have a chance. The media didn’t show it because they were trying to save the American Public from having to watch a mercy killing.
what was the spread on that game anyway?
That’s where I went shortly after my post.
That was at Noon on the Seventh Day, wasn’t it? And so ever since, on Sunday, bars don’t open until noon.
Consider yourself lucky. You didn’t get to listen to the announcers blather on at least 25 times during the game about whether Belechick would shake Mangini’s hand at the end of the game. My God, who the fuck cares?
