Fukushima still melting down, still a nuclear disaster

Same way they covered up Godzilla’s attack on Fukushima with that “earthquake-tsunami” story.

Try and keep that in mind yourself, since you don’t seem to be capable of grasping the concept.

Yes, but nuclear has a long half life to catch up. Heh, heh, ketchup.

Yo just chiming in here to say that it’s pretty stupid to thank FXMastermind for anything other than being really dumb, or else concentrating all his dumbness in a couple of threads.

Well, I personally think FXMastermind is the bees knees and the only one of y’all that has the slightest bit of common sense. Keep in mind that he is saying Chernobyl and Fukashima are really bad and the rest of you are saying they aren’t any problem worth addressing. How stunningly and willfully blind and ignorant can you guys be?

Like I said, straw must be on sale. Basically, he’s an idiot of biblical proportions, and you thinking he’s the bees knees doesn’t exactly enhance your own reputation. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m not in the pit to enhance my reputation. I’m here to trash the reputations of people who design nuclear power plants.

It’s not working (well, the part about trashing the opposition…the part about not enhancing your rep is certainly doing wonders). Up the voltage.

Bees knees. Bees knees.

On a 1000+ year timescale, I firmly believe nuclear power has a role in human advancement. Right now we need laboratory demonstrations of the various latest-generation nuclear power generation architectures observed over a ([today’s date]-[date of Chernobyl accident]) timeframe. Nuclear power probably won’t grow much in this generation.

I’d like to see a nuclear power plant on the moon, or a big asteroid, or Mars, manufacturing something very valuable and very energy-intensive. If the thing blows up, nobody gets hurt. If it works, all you have to worry about is delivering the product. Easy-peasy.

How far away is fusion power? We can’t keep “not quite” obtaining it forever…can we?

You don’t do your NIMBYism by halves, do you?

But what about, like, Moonal Warming, maaan ?

You’re gonna need a lot of extension cords.

We should talk to those Romans about a new aqueduct, too.

The sun is a fusion reactor that bathes our planet in more usable energy every hour than is used in a year. The difficulty is harvesting that power, you need photovoltaics or other method to convert it to electricity. With experimental human made fusion reactors, virtually no work has been done at all on harvesting the energy, that is, converting the heat to steam and then electricity.

I prefer to think of it as ‘risk aversion’.

Chernobyl … who gains the most … wolves do !!!

I just mentally substitute FXMasturbatingmindlessly whenever I see his user name. And keep him on ignore. Mainly because of his unpleasant tendency in these threads to post ‘Walls o’ Links’ that I have to scroll through, said links generally having no actual relevance to his alleged ‘point’, but I will click on the ‘view post’ link that shows up for ‘ignored’ posters in other threads, since he confines that idiotic behavior to threads on nuclear power and global warming, and his posts in other threads are sometimes worthwhile. Which, of course, means I only read about 5% of his post-count, and maybe 0.01% percent of his word-count.

The dipshit has practically nothing to say, but he sure is prolific in saying it.

Yeah…but what do the fox say?
