Fukushima still melting down, still a nuclear disaster

You’re cracked. No one denies how serious the radiation leakage is at Fukushima. You’re perpetrating a grotesque straw-man fallacy here. Debate what people actually say, instead of creating a grotesque parody and debating that.

(Clint Eastwood has the chair.)

I have a theory: FX is a shill in the pay of the fossil fuel industry. His climate change denial stance, while mostly based on posting walls of irrelevant text and links to sites he doesn’t understand, also has a component of telling people to do some research and think for themselves. Yet when given the same arguments about nuclear power he takes the opposite stance. Consider also that he is sometimes capable of making a cogent analysis of a particular issue, but then he shows that he can’t do simple math when the results goes against his chosen stance. Add in the virulent opposition to nuclear power and his complete inability to address any statistics on the fossil fuel industry like the fact that the cancer death rate in China has climbed by 500,000 per year in the last decade due to fossil fuel pollution. Take it all together and there are only two possibilities:

 1. He is a complete moron who lacks the cognitive ability to discuss these important topics but really wants to be sitting at the grown up table so he just spouts noise so he can feel good about himself.

 2. He is a paid shill that makes his living obfuscating discussions where the result would be negative to those who make a living pumping carcinogens into the atmosphere.

I am leaning toward 2 because it is hard for me to believe that anyone could be as stupid as he seems to be.

You, meanwhile, not having used all caps, cannot possibly have anything important to say.

You’re a dipshit. Oh, wait, YOU’RE A DIPSHIT.

And that’s important.

You see FX, you should not taunt Happy Fun Ball.

You can’t make this shit up.

Ah, I see. It is inappropriate in view of how he misquoted post 219.

But you can quote out of context to make a point…assuming that your audience is equally stupid and unable to read with comprehension as you are. :stuck_out_tongue:

Cite please.
.

I’d go with number 1, personally…he really is that stupid. He’s not Gonzomax stupid, but he’s definitely in a class all his own.

No it’s definitely 1. He really is that stupid. Read your #1, again, and compare it to his posts in this thread:

That describes him, exactly.

Well, how about if we do a case study? Your quote, again:

The altered quote, using your techniques:
I… a… idiot. i… confused.
.

Are you really too stupid to see the difference? Why, yes, you apparently are.

Now you are stealing my material?

For shame.

No, I only used your technique, but I attributed it to you, properly, asshole.

I don’t remember gonzomax making 50-page threads that he keeps alive by quadruple-posting garbage though? He may have had an impenetrable skull but IIRC he was still smart enough to let an argument die eventually and not keep it on life support by arguing against himself.

I honestly think there’s a decent chance that FXMastermind is a paid shill, maybe 25%? Three things really stick out as strange to me.

First, there’s denying global warming while being opposed to nuclear power. I can imagine ideologies compatible with all the different permutations: on the “stop global warming” side you’ve got anti-nuke hippies and pro-nuke pragmatists, while on the “global warming isn’t real” side you’ve got pro-nuke industry-lovers and anti-nuke apathetic idiots. I know I shouldn’t underestimate human stubbornness and stupidity, but I still have a hard time believing that somebody could care so much about these issues while being so poorly informed.

Second, there’s the monomaniacal persistence. He keeps his threads updated several times a day, rehashing the same thing over and over again, and has nothing else to say about anything. Clothahump’s “Stupid liberal idea of the day” thread might seem like an example the same thing but he only posts in it when he has something new to add, and it’s clearly more of a pet project than his entire damn identity on this board.

Third, there’s the resounding silence everywhere else. You’d think that if FX genuinely cared about his pet issues he’d bring them up in other threads. You’d also expect him to have other interests. As far as I can tell though, it’s just blather on in his one active thread until the cows come home, and pop out of the woodwork when his name gets mentioned. It’s like he’s concerned that if he branched out a bit, he’d be busted for trolling like Commissar, and then he’d lose his ability to spread the Good News.

So yeah, it’s entirely possible that he’s an idiot, but it’s also entirely possible that he’s a shill, and that’s not something you can say about most people.

But wouldn’t someone paying a shill want better results? If I’m paying someone to change the minds of other posters I would at least expect them to act intelligently.

Unless you think he’s a false flag agent for some pro-nuclear power group? Maybe he’s supposed to be discrediting the intelligence of anti-nukers? Hmmm…I’ll have to give that some thought.

I figure if a company is hiring shills, the cost of a thorough evaluation would be a lot higher than the cost of paying them in the first place. I have no clue how these things actually work out in real life, but I’d imagine it’s kind of like a reverse syndication scheme. A shill gets paid maybe $10 a week for each message board they actively shill on, and enforcement consists of checking up from time to time that they’ve been actively posting, maybe a quick skimming over the recent posting history to make sure they’re not posting the opposite of what they’re being paid for.

I can’t imagine that the supervisors are going around and checking people’s reactions to the shills to make sure the shills are winning hearts and minds. If you want to actively change people’s minds, you pay smart people millions of dollars to come up with convincing arguments that you’re right. Shills are a cheap way of making the viewpoint you want to encourage seem more popular than it actually is, so it doesn’t matter how smart they are anyway, any more than it matters with letters to the editor.

So yeah, the point of hiring shills is to get idiots to make a lot of noise for a pittance, not to sway anybody by rational argument. This is all just pulled out of my ass but it makes sense to me at least, and if it makes sense to me it should make sense to you too! brb gonna research shills

The problem is that “Nuclear is really, REALLY dangerous, right? Wrong.” does not actually contradict “You’re cracked. No one denies how serious the radiation leakage is at Fukushima.”

So, in essence, you are making shit up, and everyone here knows it. Including you.

And you’re cracked.

I’m still hoping for the widespread use of nuclear just to bankrupt the middle-east oil dictatorships, just to screw with Riga Marole, who’s lately been polluting the “Iran sanctions” thread in GD.

Oh fuck, look at what the stupid left over the holidays.

“If” you were paying? Like you could afford to do anything about anything. You can’t even fucking figure out why “I’m paying someone to change the minds of other posters” is fucking stupid. No seriously, it’s stupid. It’s really stupid. It’s actually beyond stupid, it;s delusional. Why the fuck would it even matter? Say you could change somebodies mind, how does that change anything? Think about it.

OMG more stupid. Like you have a clue about anything. You just make stupid shit up, lets say, “the point of hiring shills is to get idiots to make a lot of noise”. That’s your plan? That’s what the fuck you consider a shill? O the internet? Oh please, make the stupid stop. It burns. It burns.

You are going to go with that? At least provide some reason, some logic, lay out why you say stupid shit like that. Because if you want to spin something, you can’t just say “it doesn’t contradict” with out at least some reason for it. You dumbass.

Maybe in your imagination. Your fantasy world you inhabit.

Oh yeah, that’s strange. I am skeptical of the idiots who say radiation isn’t a danger, and also skeptical of idiots who claim the world will be destroyed by CO2 levels. Who could possibly be that skeptical? You idiot. That’s not strange at all. I also rant AGAINST fossil fuel companies, whch you obviously missed. Don’t make me have to call you a bitch

Once more, you are of course wrong. You fucking idiot. I didn’t start this goddamn topic, much less post 60 times in two days in it. GIGOfuckhead is your classic “monomaniacal persistence” idiot here. He’s at it again even as I type this.

And with that, your wrongness reaches new heights of stupid. Three strikes and you are out.

Not even worth trying to explain it at this point.

Oh please HFB, that isn’t a theory. It’s not even a hypothesis. It’s just you making up something to try and be an insulting shithead but seem intelligent or something, instead of just another anonymous fuckbag on the internet.

You aren’t even fucking trying. I mean, if you want to go for the personal attack, you can do better than that. I mean, the point is to sidetrack the conversation from being about Fukushima, or the radioactive water polluting the Pacific ocean, or the danger that still exists at Fukushima, the increasingly desperate measures to not stop, but just keep things from getting too much worse at the moment. You want to steer things away from sick soldiers, cancer ridden children, shit like that.

The old “he’s a shill” thing is so overdone, and for good reason. It’s such an easy idiot tactic, it takes no effort. And its so easy to counter. I only have to repeat that fossil fuel companies suck the herpetic cock of Satan, or something like that, and your who conjecture goes down in flames. Goddamn it, the spellchecker insists “Satan” is capitalized. That’s right, the goddamn spellchecker wants a big S for satan. But god can have a small g. I find this far more interesting than your last attempt at being an insulting unhappy fun bag.
