Keep your sister the hell away from fires.
The below quote made me post my favorite ridiculous mondegreen even though I don’t assume the intention of the thread was to be another mondegreen thread. I just have to post it because like this quote it is quite a stretch, but many people also heard it the way I do:
In the All Time Low song “This is how we do”, it sounds like they’re singing “We’re the butt****ing believers,” whereas they’re actually singing “we’re the back pocket believers.” I don’t know how I and hundreds of others could hear such differently-pronounced words.
Wait–what!?!
Because the target audience was too sparse a population?
–G!
Speaking of mondegreens and Southern drawls, my mom heard Tom Petty’s “goood love is hard to find” as “silly willy love” ![]()
No examples that wouldn’t be boring, but just wanted to rant against my brain. Specifically how it processes my bad hearing.
Why can’t it just say “And a [sorry, didn’t catch that part] your mother?” instead of “And a Mexican’s your mother?”
It’s my brain’s need to fill in the gaps with anything (rarely even remotely close) that gets me in trouble.
he heard you perfectly. Mints = mince
