I read it from Slashdot. I’m not a programmer, so I’m not familiar with his particular issues, but it was interesting to get the perspective of someone who had been fully immersed in two diametrically opposed corporate cultures - and apparently assholes can be more effective.
It made me wonder, what if Wave had been used as the basis (platform, I guess) for every other Google tool? I do know that Google’s changes to YouTube have been very annoying to those of us who have more than one account on one hand, but interesting and helpful on the other, as I see changes nearly every day.
FYI, an SRE is a Site Reliability Engineer. SREs seems to basically be the jack of all trades that watches over a product from beginning to end. Here’s a PDF describing the position.
