Google +

Starting to wonder if this is the service that will kill the internet, by putting everything in one place, I’m sure I’m not the only one that feels this way about it

People use Google+?

Well not yet, but when they force its usage because the standalone sites are taken offline, facebook, twitter and youtube may be no more

Nah.

i hope not because it hijacked my youtube

Google+: comically irrelevant.

Who is they and how are they forcing ussge of Google+? Oh and there’s an internet beyond facebook, twitter and youtube.

Google+ couldn’t hijack a valentine delivered by a first grader on a tricycle.

I’ve heard (though have no firsthand knowledge) that Google+ is slowly overtaking Facebook in terms of groups of people interested in a specific subject. A lot of my aspiring writer friends have taken refuge there rather than put up with FB’s constant shenanigans.

Nah. I’m hearing more and more people moving away from Google services because of the way they’re doing this.

Granted, my sample size is pretty small, but we’re noisy.

Google owns youtube so I think it’s safe.

That’s how I use it.

He might have been suggesting that Google will make us use + as a portal to reach You Tube, docs, gmail, etc. Essentially a SSO setup. I don’t see it happening.

They are being somewhat evil in how much the push Google+ over any other options. For instance, use Picasa to upload a set of images. The option to share an album via Google+ is right up front and easy to find. The option to share an album via URL is in a disused lavatory behind a sign that says “Beware of leopard”. It is a precursor to a lot more evil coming down the road.

Google Hangouts seem to be rising in popularity. But Google+ just seems invisible, nobody is talking about it or using it in any necessary way.

I wish Google Wave had been marketed appropriately (as a conferencing tool for businesses and clubs), it had way more potential at revolution than Google+.

Oh, I can see where that might happen. In fact, I wouldn’t at all be surprised if Google isn’t thinking about how they could eliminate multiple logins and stuff so that it’s all under one banner.

Some of us have no interest in a service like Google+ which requires real names.

:stuck_out_tongue:

well it happened, any apologies?

Oh, did the internet die? I must have missed that.
