Ok, so now that the population of dopers with gmail accounts is expanding, I thought it might be interesting to see if we get some unintentionally hilarious email/ad combinations.
For those not in the know, Google scans your incoming mail and puts (hopefully) appropriate ads alongside it, just like when you search using Google. They’ve said they’re only using family-safe ads, and have some sort of system in place so you don’t see them with catastrophic or disaster-reporting emails (deaths, and the like, I’d guess…)… time will tell.
Anyhow, post the email subject (however detailed you want to be, including, if you want, the text that probably set off the ad…) and the unintentionally hilarious ad that you get.
I got a notification for a new post in the MPSIMS thread Wanna put some stinky on my pinky?, and the ads next to it are to “eliminate smelly feet” and “Delux sock aid: put on socks without bending over.”
I had to look for the ads. I didn’t see any next to most of my e-mails.
I was about to give up and come ask you where they are when I saw this next to the e-mail about the “Petsitting as a career–anyone here do it?” thread.

And of course, next to the email notification for your reply to THIS thread, I get three more (different!) pet grooming services…
With an e-mail that has the text of the Lincoln to Bixby condolence letter is this ad:

I’ve only received two g-mails so far, both from the jillelope, and there aren’t any ads on them. Maybe they can tell I’m broke and don’t want to waste their time trying.
I’ve received about 30 emails so far, and not a single one has an ad alongside it.
And I *want *to see some! For exactly this reason.
