Funniest scene ever , movie or TV

Another favorite from “Raising Arizona” - the parole board.

Reminds me of another kids-at-camp case of uncontrollable giggles:

The Four Seasons: Alan Alda and Carol Burnett are a married couple on vacation with two other couples, one of which is a recently divorced guy and his new young girlfriend. The divorced guy and the girlfriend are always having sex, which on this small boat everybody can hear. Alda and Burnett try to talk about anything to distract themselves from the moaning and groaning, but dissolve into helpless laughter. After forty years this scene still kills me!

This one?

Yes. I looked on Youtube but my Google Fu must have been lacking. Thanks.

It makes me sad how the majority of these are 30+ years old. Here’s a couple modern submissions, for your perusal and enjoyment:

Archer, s1e7 – the bomb defusing scene over the radio. “Hooray for metaphors!” “Congratulations, you just bombed Ireland.”

The Detour, s2, episode “The Tub” – the ridiculous sex scene where Naomi decides she wants to have another baby and reveals a new … ummm… talent “Call me Colonel Kegel. And I run a very … tight … ship.” “Colonels don’t drive boats, Ah Ah AAHH! How have we been together 12 years and you’re just showing me this now?!”

“Backstreet Boys. I’m familiar.”

I guess it is sad to realize the future will never be as funny as the past. It’s possible we have used up all the world’s humor resources just like all the other ones.

This board just skews old.

How about this particular Carnak the Magnificent? It’s right up there with some prime Carol Burnette when it comes to performers not being able to keep it together.

That Sis Boom Bah joke is just so well done. I presume Johnny Carson does not know what is inside the card so they can have fun reading them?

I think it’s the opposite. You can see him and Ed laughing even before he gives the answer. They both know what’s in the envelope, and they know it’s going to kill.

It has to be that way. The emphasis and the timing of the punchline are crucial. I don’t think he could deliver the line properly if he was reading it for the first time.

So many from Archer

Archer: Wait, there are animals?

Lana: No, Animal Farm.

Cyril: How do you not get that?

Archer: No, I know what an animal farm is.

Cyril: Not an animal farm.

Archer: Maybe we can stampede a flock of goats down the hall.

Lana: ANIMAL FARM IS A BOOK!

Archer: No, it’s not Lana. It’s an allegorical novella about Stalinism by George Orwell, and spoiler alert, IT SUCKS.

This one featuring Johnny Carson and Albert Brooks always cracks me up.

And this one is a perfect sendup of Dragnet.

That was adorable! Buddy

But one of the greatest moments in Carol Burnett history was where the performers did keep it together and stayed in character.

I’ve always liked Johnny Carson as Walter Cronkite on his last night on the air with CBS.

There were television shows in 1948, so television has been around at least 74 years. The past 30 years are thus a minority of the history of television. There have been significant movie comedies in 1914, which means that movie comedies have been around at least 108 years. The past 30 years are thus a minority of the history of movie comedy.

Then there was Johnny Carson and Jay Silverheels:

LOL yes that’s a great exchange. I also like this one from ep3:

Archer: I’m dead serious, I want to file an HR complaint against Conway.

Pam: On what grounds?

Archer: He touched my penis with his penis.

Pam: Wow.

Archer: Yeah he just came up to me and was like BWIP

Pam: Where?

Archer: All of it! Head and shaft! Oh, you meant where in the building.

A fine choice, but what’s with the weird music overlaying the majority of it? Something to do with copyright I suppose. It’s even better without it, so you can hear the sound effects properly. Anyway, still one of the funniest things I have ever seen about 30 years after my first viewing of it.
