No, this is the funniest scene from Planes, Trains, and Automobiles:
Biggus Dickus skit in Life of Brian
Hank, you don’t open with a showstopper.
I nominate two. The first time I saw “Save bandit!” while bingeing The Office, I had to pause the stream for about five minutes to recover.
Second one. “Fold it in” isn’t as literally laugh-out-loud hilarious, but no matter how many times I see it, it makes me laugh. “David, I cannot show you everything” is just so . . . so perfect.
My 80 year old mother laughed so hard at that she hurt a rib.
An episode of The Goodies (a British comedy) in 1975 apparently killed somebody laughing.
From The Golden Girls: Rose tells the story of The Great Herring War and Bea Arthur and Rue McClanahan can’t stop laughing.
A couple of scenes and episodes of Coupling spring to mind. The dinner party scene at the (ahem) climax of “Inferno” in which Jack tries to explain the plot of a porn film is just brilliant. The entire episode of “The Girl With Two Breasts” is brilliant. And I forget which episode it was, but the monologue about cushions is a classic.
I think The IT Crowd has been mentioned already…for me, there’s little than can reduce me to hysterical tears faster than “I’m…leg disabled.” Jen’s disbelieving double takes at Roy (who’s having to fake needing a wheelchair) and Moss (somehow pretending to be a bartender) are comic gold. The Borat scene, that is - mom bruised a rib, laughing so hard at the naked chase scene. And the fluorescent lime green monokini.
Never heard of The IT Crowd. Looks like it might be pretty good. I think I recognize a couple of those people from The Mighty Boosh.
Best thing about that one is it never stops being funny. I’ve probably seen that movie fifty times and every time I crack up into helpless giggles. Also “Somebody’s gonna have to go back and get a shitload of dimes!” Classic.
Mr Creosote.
“Makin’ it worse for myself? How can it get any worse? Jehovah, Jehovah!” starts kicking sand
Slays me, every time.
The bar scene in The Ballad Of Buster Scruggs almost made me pee myself laughing the first time I saw it.
“Oh stewardess? I speak Jive.”
“It looks like I picked a bad day to stop sniffing glue…”
I know Jackass Forever is not a scripted comedy, but I have not laughed in 2022 as hard as I did watching Jackass Forever. I could not believe it at times. Very funny movie.
Jerry Lewis in “The Ladies’ Man”.
I can’t find it, but there is another scene later in the movie where Herbie (Jerry Lewis) is working on the elevator engine. His hands are covered in grease, when the doorbell rings.
He opens the door to see this same guy, Willard C. “Killer” Gainsborough (Buddy Lester)… DRESSED IN A WHITE SUIT!
