Funniest single panel cartoon

A panel showing an automobile stopped at a double-tracked railroad crossing. On the track nearest the automobile, the last car of a train stretching away to the horizon is passing. The caption gives the automobile driver saying “Finally! I thought that would never end!” What the driver can’t see is that on the far set of tracks, another train just as long coming the other way is about to block the crossing again.

This more or less is my outlook on life.

I confess to many years as a Martini drinker (up and dirty) and I remember a cartoon from way back, where a guy is sitting at a bar with a dozen or so empty martini glasses in front of him, a fierce snow storm raging outside. He is plucking an olive out of his current drink and dropping it into a jar. The caption went something like “That’s the last time she’ll send me out on a night like this for a jar of olives.”

I’m a native speaker of English and have spent my whole life in the US, but I didn’t get that Killkulon is a “robotic” name. For some reason I also thought that in the original post, it was the name of the artist. I did, however, get the joke. I thought it was funny.

“Tobor” would be the stereotypical robot name, in my opinion.

Or “Gort,” if you are a “Day the Earth Stood Still” fan , or “Robby the Robot” for “Forbidden Planet” fans, or…Well, just Google “famous movie robots” and you’ll find a ton of them.

R2-D2, got it. 1A, good. Gigantor, sweet!
