Futurama

I hadn’t seen this show in a long time.
Loved it.
My son was laughing; which he usually doesn’t during His shows.
He especially liked the Fry mooning out the window.
We also watched the SImpsons and I loved the phone company telemarketer calling the lady and being absolutely shocked! that she hung up on him and started crying saying “what did I do wrong?”
LOL

I watched Futurama, King of the Hill, and The Simpsons…laughed a lot with all three, but my favorite was The Simpsons.

“At least Ernie and Bert left it up to the imagination!”

Yeah that was pretty good. How old is your son, vanilla?

The robot Jesus line was funny- “We believe he was a well-programmed robot, and that he was good, he just wasn’t our messiah.”
And “No lobsters!”

Go “Safety Dance”!
“That dance wasn’t as safe as everyone said it was.”

And Calculon’s Charlton Heston impression- “Get that sludge off me, you DAMNED DIRTY ape!”

The PlanEx commercial was good, was it supposed to be a direct spoof on something?

“Simpsons” was good also. “How do you say no to a face like that?”
“Flanders, give me a hundred grand.”

And the monkeys. God, the monkeys. “I am like sugar to them!”

That’s “No shellfish!”

That’s “Get that trike off me, you damned dirty ape!”

Apple’s launch of Macintosh, directed by Ridley Scott, aired only during the Summer Olympics of 1984, inspired by the novel of the same name. The reaction IRL was pretty much the same as on the show – except that the Mac spot has become legendary.

<sigh> Nitpickers. But thank you for explaining the commercial to me. It brings back memories I never knew I had. So this is what happens when Ridley Scott tries to direct a commercial spot?

Not Olympics, the Superbowl. There’s a real interesting story here, I wont tell it, but Apple basically took a huge gamble and ran the commercial once and only once during the Surperbowl, kick starting the ad engine we know it as today. You can watch the original here ----->¤

Oh, and her boobs did shake enough to make it a perfect parody. Oh well. It was a funny episode.

Damn! I missed the first half of Futurama, and it sounds like I missed a bunch of good stuff!

I’ve heard rumours that Fox may cancel the show. I hope not; it’s funnier than King of the Hill, and I watch it more consistantly than Malcom in the Middle.

Story seems to be they have stopped production for now. Of course, due to the damned NFL delays (in which the game was over at 7, but the excessive post-game highlights and 20 minutes of ads bumps Futurama) reportedly there are plenty of unaired episodes in the can.

I would be surprised if they pulled it from the air as long as they want the Simpsons (I imagine it would mightly piss off Matt Groenig if they did, not a wise move). Given the consistent beating Fox takes on the show, I can only imagine what would happen if they kill off Matt’s baby.

Coolhand

my son is 9.
I think there wa something a bit adult on it, but if he doesn’t get it, fine with me.
