Gaelic Door Amulet?

My mother always had an Irish amulet by the door. It had three metal circles on a strip of leather. The metal charms are different on all the ones I’ve seen but mine has a harp, a claddagh heart and a horseshoe. I was always told that these were put by the door for luck (?).

I’m trying to find one to give as a Christmas gift but since I have no idea what it’s called I can’t find it anywhere. I’ve tried looking at Irish stores on-line and googling a general description and haven’t been able to come up with anything like it.

Does anyone know what I’m talking about?

Sounds like you’re looking for ‘Horse Brasses’ - there’s some at this website - and elsewhere on the internet they can be seen mounted on a leather strap, like you describe.
