Books. Especially Photoshop books. I got one in the mail today, and another one’s coming. I scare myself with Photoshop books. (But it’s Photoshop!)
Cats.
Books. All kinds.
CDs, LPs (“records”—those black vinyl disks for those of you born after 1983) and tapes.
VHS tapes and DVDs.
Art supplies. Sketch pads. Rapidograph pens. Clay. Bottled glazes. (I am a potter and artist.)
Computers. A Macintosh G4 400, Mac G4 533, an upgraded Mac 8600 (upgraded to G4, that’s still being worked on by the Mac Guru), an 1800+ AMD PC, and an old crappy 450 AMD PC.
And stuff related to Eeyore. A lot of people seem to know about my deep and abiding love for the donkey, so I have Eeyore mugs, Eeyore stationery, stuffed Eeyores, Eeyore books, Eeyore mousemats, and even a stuffed Eeyore in a mug, which I have to say I’m in love with. All you can see is his head peeping over the edge of the mug at you.
Nuts, bolts, washers, any type of hardware. Even when I get, say a new ceiling fan, when I’m done installing it, I save the “pocket bolts”, 'cos ya never know when you might need just that bolt. Hinges, latches, doorknobs, you name it, I got a sh*tload of 'em laying around…
I’m about ready to dive into their catalog and order - it always looks so nice!
I’ve also decided I have too many running socks. I get the wicking kind by DeFeet that have cutesy little designs on the ankle. I’ve got the one that has the sperm on it (Survival of the Fittest), the Plumber’s Butt one (literally, it has an ass crack on the rear of the sock), florals, swirls, whatever. I’ve probably got two weeks’ worth of socks, even though I do laundry every week. I can never get enough!
Books. Like DeVena, I too need a new bookcase. And being a grad student, I can borrow stuff from the library for up to a year at a time; so, I currently have 46 books on topics like “the poetics of Dostoyevsky” randomly flung around my place.
Baseball cards. At least 10,000. But I won’t sell or get rid of any of them. It would be easier to burn one of my books than destroy a baseball card, since most of my childhood memories are wrapped up in them.
Half-eaten packs of Spearmint Excel gum. I have about seven or eight on my dresser.
Books
Plastic grocery bags
cats and dogs
lipsticks
shoes
office supplies
telephone books (I seem to get a new one every week! I’m really going to have to call someone about this.)
I’m embarrassed to tell everyone just how many bottles of shampoo and conditioner I have. They’re filling up a storage caddy in the shower, a rolling cart next to the shower, and I put 3 or 4 sets in the linen closet to get rid of the overflow. I have shampoos and conditioners for color-treated hair, for frizzy hair, etc. I think I need a 12 step program.
Penzey’s! You bet, I love that place. Their turnover is high so their spices are the freshest you can get. Unless you grow your own that is. I unpacked the box last night after work and had to open each container to smell. Wonderful stuff! I got Vietnamese cinnamon, crystallized ginger (delicious), lemon grass, galangal, chives, green peppercorns, curry powder, kala jeera, peppermint, taco seasoning, Foxpoint seasoning, msg and a few empty jars. Penzey’s threw in a free sample of pasta seasoning.
