Today I went to Circuit City, to look for presents, when I stumbled upon some Game Boy Advanced games. My fiance has one (which I steal from time to time) and I though, hell I haven’t played anything in a while, I might as well see if they have any games out.
I was in for a surprise. Not only did they have tons of games, they had games I knew I would like! Games I had played in my hayday were now available to me, for cheap too.
So I picked up the Phantasy Star triple pack. Soon I will buy Eye of the Beholder and Zelda.
Is anyone else out there stoked that the GBA is bringing back the “classics”? Also, anyone know what other oldies treasures I might find??
One of the best games on any system, Super Mario World, is available for GBA. That game doesn’t lose it’s magic after 10 years and is fun to replay over and over.
Of course the fact that you can play ALL GameBoy games on the GBA means you can play the granddaddy of them all, Tetris!
Don’t overlook a great GBA-only game called Advance Wars. It’s a turn-based strategy war game (kind of like a turn-based warcraft game) which gets pretty difficult, has tons of maps to add on (you earn more maps the more you play), and if someone hadn’t stolen my GBA a year ago, I’d be playing it right now!
as for old/revived games, I was happy about Super Mario Bros 2. My second-favorite of the series.
I can understand if you still own them, I however do not. My Nintendo game system had an unfortunate accident involving M&M’s and insertion (of the M&Ms, get your mind out of the gutter)
