Game of Thrones 3.08 "Second Sons" 5/19/13 No book spoilers

Just had a horrible thought about Theon. If his captors have a banner that features a flayed man … well, that hasn’t happened … yet.

They flayed his finger already.

I don’t think Geofrey would even want to have sex with a woman. Knowing she would be up all night terrified he may make good on his threat probably is sex to his twisted mind.

And Tywin is the best badass going. No weaknesses, except for perhaps a blind spot … willful, surely … where his offspring are concerned … and a certain inability to appreciate Tyrion’s character strengths.

Actually, Tyrion is the only one to whom Tywin entrusts much power and responsibility at all.

Very awkward wedding. Joffrey is such a dick. I thought for a while that Tyrion was going to go ahead and do his “duty” and bed Sansa.

Moment she said that she was 14, I knew that their was no way that would happen even HBO would not permit it.
So the wedding is next week. What exactly is Robb’s role going to be. “Sorry Mr Filch, I went back on my word about marrying your daughter, here’s my uncle Brutus as compansation, don’t worry, not as dumb as he looks and certainly not as dumb as me”.

Whats the betting that Brutus kills Ceaser next week?

Wasn’t Jamie leading one of the Lannister armies when he got captured? I would say Jamie is his favorite kid, by far. “Covered in glory” and so forth.

Yeah, notice that he still used the phrase “put a baby in you.” I think Joff is going to be the terrified one when it comes to doing the deed with Maergary

I think most of the jobs that he’s given Tyrion has just been to keep him busy and trying to uphold the Lannister name.

Well, there’s no episode next week because of some American holiday.

But besides that, Caesar is still north of the Wall.

Are we to think that Joffrey is still a virgin? I thought Sansa (or someone referring to Sansa) referred to Joffrey already forcing himself on her at some point.

I want Tywin’s awesome trench coat.

I didn’t get that impression. It seemed to me that Davos had convinced Stannis not to kill Gendry.

If they were going to kill him, why didn’t they?

OTOH, Melisandre never said how much king’s blood would be needed.

If Joffrey had raped Sansa, it wouldn’t be alluded to. They would’ve shown it happen on screen because that would be a pretty big character moment.

It certainly started out as kill Gendry. Stannis said something about how Melisandre was going to sacrifice Gendry, and Davos replied, “You mean kill him” and then argued against this, saying that Renly acted against Stannis but that Gendry was innocent.

Ha, thanks for reminding me of Lady Oleanna’s scene, “idly” puzzling out the implications of marrying brother and sister to mother and son in terms of loops in the family tree - such a wonderful little bit of trolling

I’m pretty sure Tyrion implied he was a virgin when he sent those two whores to him. I feel like we would’ve found out if that had changed.

And Stannis argued that they both knew Melisandre’s god was real and produced results. The leech thing was just the compromise i guess, Melisandre is trying to prove the power of the blood is real and if it is Gendry is toast.

Americans have almost no holidays, but somehow they’re managing to get one right on the day when this show is broadcasted? Delaying the broadcast too for everybody else in the world?

Hah. Even better, the actual holiday is the day after.

“You’ll be fucking your wife with a wooden cock.”

I wonder if that will actually come to pass…

That, and the actress is 17. It was obvious she wouldn’t disrobe completely. Also interesting that she had several layers of clothing on, while Melissandre’s entire wardrobe seemed to be held on by one cord.

So I guess her “proof” is summoning some smoke baby/monster/explosion to kill three powerful lords. I was expecting something more mundane like create fire, and she would save the possibly demonstrative assassination for the sacrifice. Plus, what is Davos supposed to do, hear Ye Olde Towne Crier announce that Joffrey fell on a crossbow bolt, and immediately bow down to her god?

Davos point wasn’t even disbelief, he just thought it was a dick move to kill Gendry.
