I like how the last few episode’s titles have all had multiple meanings related to the plot of each episode. In this I expect to see significant things happen plot-wise for the Hound, Bran, and Tyrion, who are all ‘second sons’.
Tonight they switch to the “unseen interviewer” format made famous by The Office and Modern Family. First up: Tywin.
“When Jaime and Cersei were teenagers they used to fight all the time. You’d hear bumping and banging and huffing and puffing coming from their rooms in the tower every day, sometimes several times a day. One time I told Tyrion ‘Go up there and separate those two’ and he went the opposite direction from their tower. ‘Where the hell are you going, boy?’ I asked and he said ‘To get a crowbar’. My reason for mentioning this is that Tyrion has never had a clue how to follow orders.”
I think the network execs chose to greenlight “Jamie and Brieanne” instead. It is a hilarious sit com where Jamie, a down on his luck former wall street banker ‘master of the universe type’ from a very wealthy family is having to lay low due to some insider trading shenanigans is forced to share an apartment with beat cop Brieanne from a working class back ground. Laugh as they trade witty banter, sharp barbs and extricate themselves from hilarious situations caused by Jamies interfering sister, their brattish over entitle nephew and some comically inept mafia street thugs trying to get back their losses from Jamie. The “will they won’t they get together” dynamic should keep the series going for many, many seasons.
I’m just as bad as those in Westeros forgetting about Jon! I guess it’s because there’s a big thing made about him being a bastard, and how that’s a Very Bad Thing. Also, technically, Jon has forsaken his family in becoming a member of the Night’s Watch. So the second son would still be Bran, I guess.
“The Cure for Being a Cunt,” the new romantic doctor comedy on ABC.
I got the impression that they considered it an honorable thing, as the Starks are one of the few families to have a huge respect for the NW. It’s like a chance to redeem yourself, whether criminal or bastard. And I doubt Ned didn’t respect Benjen.
