I’m dumb and screwed up the title again this week. I accidentally put it as 7.02 last week, and so when my auto-fill for thread titles came in, I saw the 7.02 title I made last week and just changed it to 7.03. I reported it for change.

The early reviews for the leaked version of the episode say it’s one of the best of the whole run of the show.

It is THE best.

I cracked and watched it early(I’ll buy the Blu-ray/DVD in due course).

I would not say best of the whole show, but it is an excellent episode and had a couple jaw dropping moments for me and my wife. Maybe top 5 of the series, though.

It is a great episode, although there is still the “How did they get there so fast” type issues.

And although it is one of the best, it is also one of the shortest. It wasn’t even 50 minutes when the credits rolled.

A very solid episode.

The first half has things that connect waaaay back, and might be a bridge to season 8.

It also has some great awwwww moments.

The second half is, erm, awesome.

No more until the episode has officially aired.

Well, except for this. At some point, someone is in the Winterfell Crypt, and there are lit candles everywhere. And all I could think of was this from the computer game FarCry4:

“Ajay, you’ve been out and about exploring Kyrat for a while now. Tell me who lights all of those fucking candles? The country is in the grips of a civil war, an apparently monstrous dictator has the country on it’s knees, and yet some industrious fool has put it upon himself to wake up every morning and go around lighting hundreds, and hundreds of candles. Oh I’m tempted to employ someone to blow them all out again. Actually I have a better idea—”

Fixed title.

Really cool that you the show can get you to be so conflicted about the outcome of a battle.

So, did Jon bend the knee? Jaime has to survive, right? I teared up a couple times, both with Arya just sitting there in the courtyard and when Sansa visited. Does Bran know about Littlefinger and Ned? Seems he would have to, but why not mention it? Petyr has a part to play still?

Pretty awesome episode. My blood is pumping.

Wow.

The cave drawings and dragon glass cave looked much better in HD without water marks.

great ep…but at the beginning they stated they had enough ships to bfing the Dothraki over, and somehow they catch up to Jaime before they reach King’s Landing.

I liked Sansa telling Bran that Littlefinger shouldn’t be trusted.

Goddamn! Who do you think came up with THAT battle plan?

“Fewer” “Wut?”

Dany’s in a bit of trouble and in danger of being captured at the end there. Jaime said the gold was already in King’s Landing, so mostly what they destroyed was the grain, along with some large number of Lannister soldiers.

And I thought Dickon looked familiar. He’s played by the same guy who was Billy Bones in Black Sails on Starz.

Watching Bronn after he missed the first shot I was sure he was going to mutter “smile, you son of a bitch!”

I’m pretty sure the gold was still with Jaime & the army. Confirmed by Cersei telling the banker that her brother was in process of bringing it to King’s Landing. We were thinking that burning up the grain though wasn’t the best idea.

Either Jaime or Bronn said something about how the gold already crossed the gates to Kings Landing, while the battle occurred on the plains outside.

It was the older Tarly, but yes he specifically said all the gold was inside King’s Landing already. All the food is gone though, so unless they can eat gold they are probably worse of.

I think Jaimie survived, but only because he’s bound to end up captured which makes things even worse for Cersei. That gold isn’t going to do the Iron Bank any good if they can’t get it out of Westeros and King’s Landing is going to devolve into anarchy once word reaches the city. Unless Qyburn has about a dozen more Scorpions they’re screwed, or at least the Red Keep is depending on Daenerys’s plans (it’s easier to rebuild a castle than an entire city). Speaking of the Iron Bank; I loved that comment how some of the executives were going to miss the Lannisters’ interest payments.

I was surprised they made a grammar joke/statement on the show. Still, it was pretty funny.
