Is this episode really going to be two hours?

ETA: nevermind, I looked it up: 1:25

79 minutes.

Wow…

Step back in the right direction. Cersei with some good subterfuge.

I’ve hated the Jon + Dany thing for as long as I’ve considered the possibility. Still hate it. If it doesn’t get subverted in some way I’m going to be unhappy.

Fucking her right after the big “she’s really his auntie” reveal seems a little subversive to me. That whole incest thing has not been presented in a positive view on the show so far.

Bye bye, Littlefinger!

Nice to see the Stark girls working together, emphasizing their respective talents and abilities.

I expected to see Tormund surfing a block of ice down the collapsing wall. I guess I’ll be waiting nearly a year to learn his fate.

Cersei really whiffed. Got both brothers telling her to go ahead and kill them, and she lets them both live? GRRM would not have missed that opportunity to upset and annoy fans by taking at least one of them out.

and Aegon Targaryon? I thought sure his name was Jahaerys. Oh well. Tis a good name.

Winter’s surely here.

I liked the reunion scene at the beginning, where some characters met for the first time in years. And the introduction of the wight to Cersei was great.

I don’t think so. Especially because 99% of all shipping has been done knowing full well that she’s his aunt. It’s just so obvious.

Now, maybe she or Varys has Jon killed after they find out he’s the true heir. Varys because he doesn’t care about birthright, and Dany because that’s her entire identity. I really hope neither of them ends up ruling though. Ugh.

It was all a set up!

I think that even if Littlefinger had Sansa in the palm of his hand, the minute he accuses Arya of wanting to be Lady Winterfell, all was lost.

Bran does not see all, exactly. At least he needs to know where to look.

That Night King, starting his march years before the dragons are even hatched. Now that was the real long con. Now you know where the chain came from. Like I said, they’ve been there for millennia, hoping live humans would be dumb enough to send a dragon up north.

Edit to add: Cersei didn’t kill Tyrion there was no way she was gonna kill Jaime.

My only quibble with this is they talk about their dad and missing him. Their dad always said the man who passes judgement on another should swing the sword but in this case Sansa passed judgement and Arya carried it out.

No biggie really. Just saying.

who was the smart guy who predicted Littlefinger would die this week? Give that man an award!

Was the actor playing Rhaegar the same guy that played Viserys? the similarity was remarkable.

It’s just good teamwork.

Really really thought Jaime was going to die and it would have been brutal. I like Jaime so I’m glad he’s alive, but man would that have been an intense moment. “I don’t need you, I have a child” as Gregor stabs him in the back.

I was wondering about this mercenary army of 20,000 soldiers that Cersei hired. We haven’t been told much about the rest of this world, but how do you keep an army of that size occupied? There doesn’t seem to be enough conflicts for them.

Same here. I kinda still wish she’d done it.

the show creators just decided that all the major characters left (with 1 exception) will make it to the last season. As opposed to last year when a lot of them got wiped out.

There’s a whole other continent out there – the one Daenerys spent most of the show on. Many large cities, probably a lot more people than all of Westeros.

Yeah, Essos is to Westeros as Eurasia is to the Americas. Sorta.

And let’s not even get started on Sothyros.
