Game of Thrones 8.06 "The Iron Throne" 5/19/2019 Show Discussion

The white book, it was under Jamie’s listing that Joffrey was killed by Tyrion. Written by Jamie himself unless i am mistaken.

Huh, I missed that.

It said something like “failed to protect his king, who was poisoned?”

Sansa does. Littlefinger showed her the poisoned beads in the headpiece she got from Olenna.

Sitting between Sam and Edmure I assume.

Here you go.

Sansa knows who did it. Tyrion knows he didn’t do it. They may have told others, who may or may not have believed them.

Both Jaime and Cersei knew who did it, but I don’t remember if they told anybody else. I imagine that Qyburn probably knew. Varys, as well.

Doesn’t seem like it much mattered. Jaime found out that Olenna did it, and he told Cersei, and that was the last time it was mentioned as far as I remember.

I just watched it. What an incredible ending it would’ve been if they hadn’t half-assed the whole Mad Queen thing.

Jeez. I thought that guy was going to be the lynch pin of the entire endgame of the series. At the very least, as an eyewitness to confirm Jon’s parentage, if not to bring his comparatively rested and intact army to help save Winterfell. But nope. He gets to hesitantly say one word, “aye”, in the very last episode?

Actually, they cribbed it from Roose Bolton’s death scene when he was stabbed by Ramsay. Ok, they didn’t embrace, but they were characters with a close relationship in which one betrayed it to stab the other. And like the scene between Jon and Dany, it wasn’t immediately clear who was doing the stabbing.

I was giggling because The Raven had more than three ayes that afternoon.

The cast list for the episode list the others present at the Dragon Pit meeting as Lord Une (from the Stormlands and sitting next to Gendry), Unnamed Prince of Dorne, Unnamed Riverlands Lord, Unnamed Vale Lord, and Unnamed Northern Lord. Howland Reed is not listed in the credits (or at least, the actor who previously played him isn’t).

Given that nearly all of the known members of most houses have been killed off, it’s not surprising that the others are characters we haven’t seen before. But it would have made sense if Howland Reed had shown up.

Is “Unnamed Vale Lord” supposed to be Robin, the young boy who was being breastfed at an uncomfortably advanced age?

Double take … Robin Arryn?

Yeah, looks like —

Looks like Howland Reed was in just 1 episode (it was a vision of Bran from the past) so it would be pretty unlikely they would go to the trouble of bringing him back.

“Glow up”?? I mean, I get what they’re trying to say, but when did that become a phrase?

No. Robin Arryn is named in the credits, as is Yohn Royce, another Vale Lord. There is evidently another Vale Lord in the group, to the right of Royce.

Robin Arryn is actually the longest-serving head of a Great House in the series, becoming the head of House Arryn when his father Jon was poisoned prior to the beginning of the very first episode.

I had to Google that phrase and snacc

I just thought that Ned’s most supportive bannerman, and the only living person who knows Jon’s heritage firsthand without having to use magic, as well as the father of greenseer Jojen Reed and Bran’s protector Meera would merit more than a single short flashback scene in the entire series. And GRRM promised he would show up in the books, so I assumed he’d be important. Apparently D&D didn’t think so.

you mean Reed will be in the 2 books that are never coming out?
