Recap of last week:

Ned goes to see Ser Hugh, who died in the joust, and chats with Ser Barristan Selmy. King Robert wants to joust, but Ned talks him out of it. At the joust we see Ser Loras Tyrell face off against Ser Gregor Clegane, the Mountain that rides. Loras wins, and in case you didn’t notice already, Gregor is kind of an asshole. He kills his horse and attacks Loras before the Hound and Robert force him to stop.

Catelyn takes Tyrion to the Eyrie, not Winterfell as she said at the Inn. On the way they are attacked. Tyrion saves Catelyn instead of fleeing, and Bronn distinguishes himself in combat. When they reach the Eyrie Catelyn’s sister Lysa is breastfeeding her ~8 year old son. While Tyrion and Catelyn look on in disgust she berates Cat for brining him there and sends Tyrion to the dungeon to await trial.

Arya chases a cat as part of her water dancing training and follows it beneath the Red Keep. She sees the dragon skulls and then overhears Varys and Ilyrio talk about the Wolves and Lions fighting. Arya tries to warn Ned, but is interupted by Yoren, then a council meeting. At the meeting Robert learns that Dany is pregnant, from Jorah Mormont, and plans to send an assassin to kill her. Ned won’t hear it and quits his post. As he’s packing to leave the capital, Petyr Baelish tells him that he’ll take Ned to the last place Jon Arryn was before he died. Ned agrees to go and is led to a brother where he finds another of Robert’s bastards. After exiting the brother Ned is confronted by Jaime about Tyrion’s abduction. In the ensuing fight Jory is killed and Ned stabbed through the leg with a spear.

It took me awhile to figure out what this was supposed to say, but I kinda like it better the way it is :). Damn you autocorrect!

Brothel  and i think the identity of the two conspirators under the red keep is not supposed to be entirely clear.

Both of their faces were shown and Littlefinger mentioned the meeting. I don’t think that’s a secret.

Right. Arya doesn’t know who they are, but the viewer does.

I’m going to rewatch that last scene a few more times just to try to spot the precise instant where Viserys realizes he fucked up.

I liked it.

The sky cells are still awesome. The trial fight was pretty good, but how dumb is Bronn for backing up to the moon door? Come on now. All the Dothraki scenes kicked ass, especially the ending. The Theon scene could have been done away with. Give me an extended Syrio scene over that.

Overall though, damn good. Now if I could only get HBOgo to work. They had to know this was going to happen!

I think it’s when they snapped his arm.

I would have loved to keep hearing all of Tyrions crimes, that was the best scene on the show so far.

Pretty sure Bronn did it on purpose, probably hoping the knight would go flying once he easily dodged out of the way.

He didn’t dodge out of the way though. They clashed together with Ser Vardis trying to push him over. Maybe Bronn’s too slow, but isn’t the point of being lightly armored and forgoing the shield to be faster?

That is true i guess, but Bronn seemed to be in control throughout most of the fight. Was anyone else surprised at how graphic the golden crowning was? i was not expecting to see so much.

Oh, I was expecting that one. I think the rule for this show is to expect nasty gore at all times.

It was Comedy Night at the Eyrie.

My favorite part was the interaction (unspoken but you could see it in their eyes) between Drogo, Dany, and Viserys.

“I gotta do this, hon. You sure you’re okay with it?”
“Yeah, he’s gone too far. Plus, he’s a snot. Love you much!”
“At last, I get my crown. Hey! What the fuck?!”

As I said in the wrong thread-- Dany is one to keep your eye on. She’s got teflon hands and the Midas touch!

For a second there I thought Ned was going to succumb to fever but he got over that right quick, didn’t he. One second he was sweating it out on the bed and the next he was holding court.

According to Viserys one full army costs about as much as a single ship, that did not seem quite right.

I do want to ask about something but I’m not sure whether it was in this episode or in the coming attractions. Quick, someone tell me what was the last scene in this episode.

Golden crown.

Ah. Must have been the coming attraction then.

Yeah, that did seem a bit off. But then again, Westeros is a strange land, where gold melts and solidifies at an astonishing rate - so anything is possible!
