Willing? Yes. Capable? No.
He was wildly flailing about and got utterly pwned by a little girl that left him in a crying, whimpering heap.

Whether he’s likely to succeed is a separate question from whether he has “the stones to do his own dirty work.” If he’s drunk enough, he just might try it.
I submit that the requisite stones to go after the butcher boy and those necessary to go after Tyrion are in a whole different league. This is evidenced by his previous complete and utter inability to respond to his getting the shit slapped out of him by Tyrion.
Maybe, but being legally right would help them a good amount. I’m sure plenty of bannermen would stay loyal to the Stark’s memory, but plenty others would realize it’s a lost fight and Sansa is as much a Stark as the others were.
Which, you know, if you needed to review…
That makes me smile every time. You would think it would get old, but it really doesn’t
Don’t know if this has already been posted here, but even if so, it bears repeating. I can’t stop laughing at it.
Eh. I’ve known several Jamies of both sexes and no Jaimes, and didn’t even notice in this thread pointed it out that it’s not spelled Jamie.
That was freaking hilarious! Thanks!
Think about the Northmen we’ve seen - does the Greatjon look like a man who’ll surrender to anything shy of an overt display of overwhelming force?
The Tullies, and their banners? Walder Frey will likely change allegiance the moment the winds change significantly, and, under some circumstances, the Tullies may bow if the war goes against them…
However, now we need to keep in mind who’s in charge in our hypothetical. King Joffrey Baratheon, First of His Name, the Brat King. He’s ultimately responsible for this war by executing Ned even after the deal to allow him to take the Black. How likely is he to show mercy to the men who led the rebel army? Even Cersei’s not likely to show mercy to them - especially not after the capture of Jaime - Ned was a special case - he was one man, had not successfully raised an army, and his living could have allowed them to avoid the war.
Tyrion or Varys may argue in their favour, but in the end, that’s unlikely. They, unlike Ned, had successfully raised an army in rebellion, and with Robert’s brothers also marching against King’s Landing, showing any signs of not wanting to prosecute the war to the fullest would be unwise. The only way Greatjon Umber, Rickard Karstark, Hoster and Edmure Tully, Brynden Blackfish or any number of other Lords and Sers will keep their heads is to win this thing.
Cat, too - Littlefinger will, no doubt, make an impassioned plea for her, and Varys may join in - it’s less likely that a lone woman would be able to raise an army than all of the lords of the North and Riverlands - but Tyrion’s vowed personal vengeance against her, and Cersei and Joff aren’t like to change their tune for her, either. So, again, in the end, if they lose, she dies.
So, there’s no real incentive for the Northmen and Riverlanders to surrender, unless their lands are conquered and their major leaders already slain.
Well since we are talking about a “all Starks are dead” scenario we are basically talking about what would happen if the Lannisters win the war. At that point the north would default to Joffrey because of Sansa and there wouldn’t really be anyone left to object.
Not really - even with all the Stark men dead, if they haven’t completely subdued the North and Riverlands by force of arms, any legitimate claim they have will have all the force that Viserys’s legitimate claim to the Iron Throne had. (That is to say, they can claim it’s theirs by right all they want, but they still won’t sit on the throne because the people who are already there have swords and are saying ‘no’.) And, once they have taken it by force we get back to ‘no need for a claim through marriage’ part.
Marrying someone is how you make claim to her family’s lands without open warfare. Once you’re already killing each other on the battlefield, the victor can claim the loser’s land without it.
They are at war already, crushing the North and the Riverlands is already their goal. Keeping the wedding on just sweetens the pot if they win.
Tell me if I’m being the guy who “links to that stuff everyone has already seen.” I have not read every GoT thread(heck, who could?).
Jason Yang has recorded a very cool version of the theme to the show. He plays all the parts and edited into a cool video.
Listen to it here. He adds parts as he goes, which is really cool.
Tremendous. Thank you.
That is great! I love that theme song. The only bad part is listening to it triggered a Pavlovian response that made me crave a new episode!!!
Is it just me, or do HBO series ALWAYS have awesome theme songs?
Usually, but as I recall John From Cincinnatti had a terrible song to go with every other terrible aspect of the show.
