Game of Thrones S3 - open spoilers

How much did he repeat himself? Much and more.

You’re not wrong.

Pfft. Words are wind.

Let’s start breaking words then!

It is known.

“Dany’s small breasts moved freely beneath her boiled leather vest as she contemplated this new contender to the throne. His name was Hizzhdagr lo Ghistheraxm, he was half Ironborn, half Dornish, and it was said his hands were as large as hams. And even though he’d barely been mentioned at all before this point, he was apparently super important. ‘It is known’ her servant had assured her. But much and more Dany was learning that words are wind.”

I had abandoned A Dance With Dragons as unreadable, but last week I had a 15 hour flight, so I loaded it on my Kindle. I find it easiear going not having the big honking book in my hands mocking me with how much is left in my right hand.

But this thread makes it harder, now I am really noticing how often he repeats himself.

Pfft, this post is as useless as nipples on a breastplate.

What the fuck was that with Selyse keeping her sons in jars?!

I’m a bit disappointed in Loras sleeping around. It’s cheesy, but a lot of people like the “once the sun has set no candle can replace it” line. I guess they needed to get some male full frontal in there.

I didn’t think they were going to go with the greyscale, it looked good.

The Queen of Thorns had a line like “a wedding will be safer.” I see what you did there Brian Cogman.

I don’t know how long I can keep watching. Robb has chopped off Whateverthefuck Lord’s head and now wants to court the Freys for men. I know what’s coming, but now I’m not sure I want to watch it.

Does anyone remember the Friends episode where Joey reads Little Women? We find out that when the going gets to intense in a book, he puts the book in the freezer to cool it down. After I read the Red Wedding, I had to put the book down for a few days-- I thought about Joey. The thought of putting the book in the freezer all of a sudden made sense.

Was that detail in the book? I don’t recall it at all, but then there is much I don’t recall. If yes, were they stillborn? (a couple looked pretty big for that though).

I don’t recall it either.

That wasn’t in the book.

Perhaps they’re going to take the place of leeches, but then I don’t know why melisandre left.

I wish there had been more of the “wench”/“kingslayer” insults between Jamie and Brienne, without that the whole “my name is Jamie” scene lost a bit of punch.

I liked that they kept Shireen’s fool’s spooky “Under The Sea” song, even if the demented fool wasn’t a character.

Was Selyse as happy about Melisandre and Stannis’s “son” in the novels, or is that like the backlit-bottled-babes that was just for the show? I don’t remember.

I’d hoped that Sansa’s wedding would be more of a shock to those who haven’t read the books with her getting the new gown and then being told “Surprise! It’s your wedding day!”, but they went ahead and announced it. I remember that in the book she wasn’t in betrothal talks to Loras but to his brother, but was it Loras or the same brother who was suggested for Cersei?

I believe it was Willas Tyrell for both cases in the book.

I thought it was strange how optimistic and excited he seemed about going to Frey for help, just sort of flippantly mentioning at the same time that Frey was the man who’s daughter he was supposed to have married. Is the series portraying Robb as really having no idea at all that Frey would be upset about this?

No, both in the series and the book they paint him as basically having no choice. Frey is the only help available, gotta try and do whatever it takes to unpiss him off.
