Game of Thrones Season 4: [Fully And Openly Spoiled - See Sticky]

I think my favorite deviation from the book is giving Arya and the Hound more time together. The Hound is such a great no nonsense teacher if you want to learn how to be a better murderer.

To bad they can’t cruise around the Riverlands for much longer. The wound that The Hound refuses to cauterize should become infected soon. And even though Arya seems to sympathize with him more than in the book, she still has to leave him for dead in order to get to Bravos.

Well, he’s not that big: http://awoiaf.westeros.org/images/thumb/4/4a/Komarck_Gregor_Clegane_FFG.jpg/350px-Komarck_Gregor_Clegane_FFG.jpg

It’s kind of a nice ending for him plot-wise. He won’t cauterize it because he hates fire and his brother is the reason for that, so ultimately, he’s another victim of the Mountain.

He’s not gonna die. He’s gonna end up repenting with those river monks that Brienne runs into. That’s a theory put forth in this thread and one I believe in.

That’s a kind of common theory - I don’t really know what to believe on that. One big theory is that he survived and that Robert Strong is an undead Mountain so Cersei’s trial by combat will be the Hound vs. the undead Mountain. It’s usually referred to as CLEGANEBOWL. I do think that Robert Strong is probably the Mountain. I’m not so sure that the Hound will fight him.

Those are fan-made pictures.

Does anyone else think that the actor who plays The Mountain is miscast? He seems more like a WWF wrestler than a knight. I don’t know why, but I just don’t see him as The Mountain.

He looks a lot more like the mountain i imagined than any of the previous ones.

The Mountain in the books is about 40 years old. Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, who plays the Mountain, is only 25 years old. The Hound is supposed be the younger brother, but he clearly looks a lot older than Hafþór.

Hafþór also looks too nice. Look how cute he looks. Just adorable.

Yeah, that pretty much gets it. The old one looked like he’d kill your family just for yucks. The new one looks like a good guy.

Yeah, it almost looks like they didn’t ask the first guy back because they were too damn scared to talk to him again. This new guy looks too young to me and comes across as a really nice guy. He also did a Reddit Ask Me Anything thread about two months ago and came across as a nice enough fellow.

If you really like the first Mountain, you can see him lose some face in one episode of Spartacus: Vengeance.

Perhaps this means we’ll see less of Brienne’s ‘wandering through the war torn Riverlands’ that so many people disliked in A Feast For Crows?

Oh and I thought Gregor mark 1 (Conan Stevens) was the best of the three in terms of matching my impression from the books.

I’m starting to agree with the idea that I think others have suggested in this thread, which is that we’ll meet Lady Stoneheart at the end of the season finale, but in a scene with Brienne and Pod. They’ll be captured by the brotherhood, who will say “pretty fancy armor, came from the direction of King’s Landing, these must be Lannisters”, and Brienne will say “I’m just trying to find Arya and Sansa Stark” and they’ll say “Stark, eh… Lady Stoneheart?” and the camera pans around and there’s ZombieCat and she says, umm, something, cut to credits.

Man I can’t wait.
There are so many great moments coming up, but that seems like the most end-of-season-gut-punch one. Assuming that Stannis shows up at the wall at the climax of episode 9, then in episode 10 we have something like:
-negotiations over who will be commander of the night’s watch, with Sam saving the day
-Arya leaving The Hound to die, getting on a boat for Bravos (seems like the boat has to be in episode 10, maybe the leaving could be earlier)
-Tyrion’s revelations and escape and confrontation with his father and Shae (which will SEEM like it has to be the absolute pinnacle of awesomeness to the newbie viewer)
-Lady Stoneheart

It’s a little less obvious to me (possibly because I haven’t read SoS for a while) what will be going on with the Dany, Sansa, Theon or Bran storylines. Anyone have any predictions?

Do I recall correctly that Stoneheart was about to have Brienne killed until she said “one word”? I wonder whether Martin knew what that word was going to be.

Bran will likely find Leaf, the child of the forest, since she was cast last year along with the three-eyed raven. The episode is also called The Children.

I’m also guessing that Dany finds out in ep 10 about Jorah’s season one betrayal and exiles him.

We do see her once after that, so whatever it was, it worked. Maybe “kingslayer”?

Wouldn’t the word be Arya?

If I remember correctly she was given the choice of her sword or hanging. I think she probably said “sword,” indicating that she chose to kill Jamie.

I think it was “sword” and it was another trial by combat type dealie.

Ah, thanks. Thought they were official.
