Game: spot the obscure movie/book/etc.. references in doper's nicks

Philip Morris is a tobacco company. A lot of people have made this connection. But no, no relation AFAIK.

I do!

Thats the name of the Prison/town the Breakers were held in the Dark Tower.

Two possible sources for revtim’s name.

I think it’s probably from Reverend Tim Flotsky in Soap.

It could also be Reverend Timothy Lovejoy from The Simpsons. I don’t think so, because he’s usually called ‘Reverend Lovejoy’ but the former was called ‘Reverend Tim.’

I thought that a-ha was in a group called the Americans or Young Americans or somesuch. I think his music precedes the popgroup by that name by some years.

Jadis is a witch in the Chronicles of Narnia (she’s scared of Aslan). I learned this recently as I’ve been reading the series to my kids. Her location is even listed as Charn, her home city or world (I forget which).

From some research (and your hint) I take it that yours is a character reference from Jack Vance’s Lyonesse trilogy:

I bump in the name of thoroughness.

Mycroft H. is a reference to Sherlock Holmes’ older brother, reputedly smarter than he was.

I know it’s weird, but I swear I did not take my name from a Sir Ben Kingsley character. I had no idea a movie called “Spooky House” existed (or was going to exist because it premiered after I registered) when I came here. The cite is in my sig.
