Purslane and dandelion have pretty tasty foliage though. Dandelion is a little bitter like endive, but I actually like mildly citrus taste of purslane a lot. It’s definatly a weed though.
To the OP, defiantly squash of some sort. I’ve got zucchini and crooked neck yellow squash just a little beyond that stage in my garden right now, and either could be it’s twin.

I haven’t poked around much at the undergrowth because it’s quite prickly; do the girl and boy parts coexist on the same plant? Can I do anything to help the little pumpkin babies along?
