Gas fumes inhaled....

I have a vehicle in which i do lawns. it’s enclosed, so all the gas cans, aside from being an explosive hazard, stench up the car bigtime, especially during the hot day.

i obviously ride with the windows down as much as i can, but can long term exposure to these fumes (and also 2-stroke oil fumes) pose health risks? if so what kind?

what about inhaling 2-stroke and 4 stroke fumes frequently while doing lawns?

thanks in advance!

My first few years out of college were spent as a police officer for a small town in SE Wisconsin. The town, though upper scale, had it’s share of weird-o’s.

One of them was a guy we nicked named “The Gas Man” because he would routinely walk around with a rag he had soaked in gasoline (leaded gas at that time) inhaling the fumes. He was always walking around with this rag shoved in his face, snorting the fuel.

He died at the ripe old age of 37. The scientific name for the exact cause of death I don’t recall, but it was related to his habit. I do know that when they did the autopsy they found his brain to be a mis-shapen blob of mush.

I don’t know how many years he was sniffing gasoline fumes, so I can’t tell you how long it will take for exposure to them to cause severe damage. But I can say with authority that inhaling gas fumes is dangerous.
