gasoline and dizziness

Several years ago, when I was pumping gas, the fumes made me dizzy. Does that mean I suffered brain damage?

Yes

Not likely. Your dizziness was the result of some relatively minor oxygen deprivation. It’s not something that you should actively seek out, but such a minor episode of deprivation isn’t likely to have any lasting effect.
