Am I the only one that realizes how ridiculously cheap gasoline is? I always hear people complaining about the price of gas, but think about it. Your buying a fuel of limited resource which is highly refined and is still less in price than bottled water (in the U.S. at least). Not to mention the fact that it costs alot of money to find it, drill for it, and pump it out of the ground.
Maybe it’s the volume of gas that makes it cheaper. I can imagine that as a country, we consume way more gas than bottled water. They can sell more gas, so they can make it cheaper.
I don’t drink bottled water, I think it’s a ripoff. I buy Gatorade instead.
It was about $.80 about two years ago here (Raleigh, NC) I think. I remember 'cause my mom tells me “put $15 in it” or whatever, but I only got to about $12 before it was full. So the bastard started stopping itself (y’know, the handle’ll click itself down). Of course, I neglected to consider that it may have been human error. So I kept clicking and clicking and clicking, till eventually gas started splashing out of the tank onto me. Kinda figured it out then :).
There was a price war between two adjacent gas stations here in Dayton last week. It got down to 10 cents a gallon. (I’m not making this up.) Cars were backed up for miles.
